Maybe being underestimated/underappreciated even as individual characters play a factor into this. I dunno. 🤔

Well...that’s expected when there’s repeated backpedaling and being bogged down by outdated clichès and such.
As individual characters Superman and Wonder Woman don’t need to be held back by “basics”. They need to evolve and be modernized like new52 did. Can’t have it both ways acting like it’s difficult for these characters to be relatable and keep interest while at the same type forcing what makes them unrelatable and uninteresting.

These art are good even if amateurish. Most of the time, the drawings of these improvised artists who try to reproduce the romantic images of SM/WW aren't really worth to be posted because they look made by kids... kids that can't even draw. 😅 But it's not the case here. 👍

New52 pretty much showed the potential of changing all of that. It was up to DC to stand by the change and keep the progression going. Batman changes with the times. Superman and Wonder Woman should be the main ones that do so as well.

Oh, but SM/WW change and keep changing to the point of having identity crisis. 😅 It's just that DC seems almost clueless about what to do with these properties and how keep them relevant.

Ha! The identity crisis comes from trying to force them to be who they aren’t for acceptance. What I mean is..evolve and what’s also holding them back is their settings, and casts not evolving even more so to be interesting or stable (in Wonder Woman’s case). They’re not as independent as Batman’s.
It’s not that hard given that Superman and Wonder Woman are exactly the characters needed within this time, we see it daily. Two characters that don’t belong to any one world, embracing all aspects of themselves to lead (not dictate) to better. They make a universal difference.
