I was reading the comments to the Lynda Carter video that has recently resurfaced courtesy of my internet history and that has been reposted on the SM/WW instagram page.
Who did the Aztecs SM/WW commented...

Why not? The cape makes her look regal. She used it in the past on special occasions.

But overall she doesn’t need it and not sure why a cloak either?

The cloak was to cover herself or something. Watch the WW movie.

There was a journalist that promised that she would ask Gal and Henry during the JL promotion what they thought of a romance between SM/WW.

I don't know if you saw it, but they brought Diana's black cloak from the WW movie into the comics in the JL Dark series. JL Dark = Dark cloak

What I posted was the promise of the interviewer, but from what I know she ended up not asking it.

Someone else asked her who would choose between Batman and Superman but Gal didn't wanted to really give an answer.
I take it that it's Superman then.

After the costume, Gal likeness, the supporting cast, etc... the cloak was the only thing missing to be completely in synch with the movie version.
