A little magnet fam hanukkah piece by science-lings.

lings explains that Lorna's shirt says T'Challa in reference to both Black Panther and the bread from Jewish cuisine. Reminds me of how Jeff Parker's Exiles included an AU Black Panther along with AU Lorna and Wanda.

The piece itself is going to be a good reminder of what Marvel will soon be disregarding for no good reason, both when Lorna isn't involved in the "holiday" book at all and the fact that the twins still haven't been brought back to being Magneto's kids.

We know nothing about the religious background of Lorna’s 616 mother. In terms of The Gifted she was Jewish given her mother’s song she sings and hums to Dawn and strangled Esme after hearing is a Yiddish lullaby for children.



Wanda and Pietro’s birth mother right now is up in the air and I think won’t be resolved on who she really is until Marvel Studios give guidance there. Lorna’s personal religious views in The Gifted and the comics are unclear.

Lorna and the impact of the coming merger with Fox is an interesting question. In terms of The Gifted season 3 I would have said no hope until Lorna’s episode proved ratings life is still to be had in the show even on a competitive night when they back off things that weren’t working. It’s still a low hope situation and if Fox doesn’t hand out reup contracts before the merger is completed in coming weeks the show likely dies.

If the series dies Lorna is probably the only character Marvel might consider bringing over to AoS or their streaming stuff. If they don’t then my guess is we have seen the last of live action Lorna until the MCU decides to have her appear in maybe 5-10+ years. Given the MCU likes to have 2 to at most 3 women on a cast I don’t see Lorna with the MCU X-Men. That doesn’t mean there aren’t possible roles for her though more in the antagonist/anti-hero/anti-villain arena.

I actually thought this was an official sketch for Uncanny and thought "must be too new" when Google reverse image search failed. Looks good!

You mean the writer attempt to distract fans with a Z list throwaway sister as if Lorna fans were actually getting something while he tried to end Polaris in ‘Polaris No More’ and turn her into a super strong hate producing character with the code name to be Synergy?

It’s what the Uncanny Avengers did as well when they took away Wanda and Pietro’s heritage in 2014. They tried to distract them with a new sister Luminous already forgotten about as if they were really getting something in the trade.

Thankfully the strength powers thing went away and she got her actual powers back.

Zaladane hasn't been touched on in decades. I think there's potential in a complete rework where Lorna's treated a hell of a lot better and Zaladane is an archenemy akin to Sabretooth or Kimura, but Marvel needs to be committed to doing more and better by Lorna, showing a fuller understanding of and respect for the character. If Marvel doesn't approach with the right attitude, they'd just screw it up again.

After CC was done using her as a plot device, I believe her strength powers faded away. Around the same time, Magneto killed Zaladane in the Savage Land, and Lorna's magnetic powers were restored.

A plot devise is a good term for what Lorna was always used for in his run.
