    Hope
I hesitated to put Hope but if she counts, then Sabretooth needs to be added for Wolverine. Arguably Lady Deathstrike too

I cant really remember many A-lists dead for more than a decade.
As a dead characaer she still drove story and her presence has always been felt. C-listers hardly do that. They are often forgotten

Hope was literally supposed to be Jean, until she wasn't. i think she counts.

everything from her being born in Alaska, grabbing the locket from scott's neck, the Phoenix, cable raising her the same way she did with him....it was a HUGE "this is jean!" effort and honestly would've worked better if she had been, or at the very least turned out to be a reincarnated Madelyn Pryor.

I wanted to argue Jimmy Hudson shouldn't count as I'm pretty sure he wasn't created with the intent to eventually bring him over to 616 (or whatever it is now), but Old Man Logan was probably the same so...

Jimmy was one of many "Wolverines" brought over/created to fill the void after the real one died. Its a role he fufilled in Blue. He was created in the first place to replace the Ultimate one that had died

You're trying so hard to be right with this argument and it isn't going to work.

Also: Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Jason Todd, etc.

Those have tended to be people who came of age in the late 1970s and early 1980s for whom the Claremont/Byrne run on X-Men is the definitive template for the franchise. To them, Jean should've stayed dead permanently after the Dark Phoenix Saga. In their view, her resurrection and, more specifically the retcon that she'd been replaced by the Phoenix, thematically gutted that story. They've never gotten over it.

20 years ago, back in the Usenet days, we late 80s/90s fans used to argue with them all the time. Now, it is we who are the cranky old farts.

Um... I don't think you know what defines an A-Lister.

In a way i feel like all X-men (except for Wolverine) are support characters. They don't work well on solos aside from logan, laura, deadpool and maybe cable.

I think Gwen is an A-List right now, Jason Todd not so much?... Like, as someone who doesn't read DC I don't really know the difference between all the Robins and stuff. But Gwen has been on movies and Marvel is pushing Spider-Gwen hard right now on lots of cartoons.

Anyways, Age of X-Men: Marvelous X-Men:

Oh please you want to relax? first it's not certain that nothing else to return, Scott and Jean return immediately to be together. Then during the last years Marvel have focused on Jeen to the point that in several cases they took many things from Tyke. With Scott and Jean that never happened, maybe the 90's but that was not for Scott. Even if Jean and Scott are together again immediately that doesn't mean anything bad to Jean, I mean in the 90's they were in seperated teams, that can happen again, Jean can lead his team while Scott leads his team (yeah it's obvious that Scott will not be like Tyke, he has always been a leader and it would be very strange that he wasn't) but even if they are on the same team, that would still not be a problem. Currently Scott is not as loved by the X-men as he should, many don't respect him or simply don't want him, Jean obviously she will be on of those who love him and those who trust him, the role of Jean in making the X-Men again trust Scott is vital, so once again Jean will not lose prominence and always the two can lead at the same time, each have things that the other not I have always seen more as they together are the perfect leader of the X-men with the militant spirit of Scott and the compansion and diplomacy of Jean.

That Scott returns and that he and Jean are together again doesn't mean any impediment to Jean except obviously kissing and sleeping with other people.

I also don't understand why so much madness, I mean that Logan was returning equally and I don't see people complaining about it, Logan is not the best leader but that has not prevented Marvel from giving him that title in the past and we all know that Logan it is almost always the center of attention.

Besides we only have conjectures that what Marvel does is maybe something that we have not even imagined.

So here for Jean's Marvel Girl throwback. Looks like a 1970's heroine, and has me kinda hyped for whatever this is. A kick ass team too!
