I can't see how anyone wouldn't think this was conceived as a shared universe.
All of those were connected to Snyder's saga in some way though. Wonder Woman and Aquaman share continuity with Snyder's films but someone not knowing that could watch them and not tell. So yes there are connections, but it was never going to be a shared universe. Their own statements confirm that.

    Johns:
“The movie’s not about another movie,” said Johns. “Some of the movies do connect the characters together, like Justice League. But, like with [2018's] Aquaman … our goal is not to connect Aquaman to every movie.”
    Diane Nelson:
"Our intention, certainly, moving forward is using the continuity to help make sure nothing is diverging in a way that doesn’t make sense, but there’s no insistence upon an overall storyline or interconnectivity in that universe," said DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson. She added: "Moving forward, you’ll see the DC movie universe being a universe, but one that comes from the heart of the filmmaker who’s creating them."
True these quiotes are from after Justice League and Snyder's exit, but he was never the only filmmaker a part of it and they were always planning on doing one-off, unconnected stories

They've said this so many times and people still want to argue that it was always their intent

Exactly. I call BS on WB not wanting the DCEU to be a shared universe. Plans blew up in their face so now they want to backtrack. Characters were going to appear in each other movies like Cyborg. If it is the case of not being shared then this whole thing was a mess since its started and thats on them not the fans.

It just doesn't add up, we all knew Snyder's movies were sharing continuity and movies with characters from his movies might share some connections while developing their own storylines. But every movie on the slate? There were no statements to confirm that and honestly from the statements I read it seemed like execs really never wanted a shared continuity at all. Snyder drew everything on that wall and had his entire universe planned so a lot of it was him trying to adapt that idea and WB throwing him a bone seeing where it went. It wasn't a universe

I think the different ideas of a "shared universe" is the issue here?

Clearly, the Snyder DC movies had connections to one another (some more than others). They all happened in the same universe. Not all of them had big connections, however.

So how they make that gel with keeping Gadot, Momoa and Robbie is gonna be the challenge going forward, I guess.
I think Robbie's going to be off doing her own thing in gritty, irreverent, indie Gotham land.

It would be kind of hilarious if they cast another Harley for Pattinson's Batman .

Unconnected stories and a shared universe are separate things. Arrow, Flash, Legends, and Supergirl all are in a shared universe but have their own various unconnected storylines in each show. & the quotes you quoted confirms that's what they wanted connected characters but unconnected stories.

Honestly, you could teach a whole 'Media Awareness' course using the DCEU as your source.

Christopher McQuarrie says him on MOS2 isn't happening. Ever.

This coupled with the stuff Vaughn said definitely makes it sound like this movie isn't going forward period.

Only if the Supergirl movie kind of fails that is the only way I see a Superman movie being put back into production any time soon it feels like, but even that is probably unlikely. They would probably just put it all in limbo.

Cavill is done. Either Supergirl or Shazam will take Supes place. They might reboot the character eventually but Snyderman is over.

With all this, reintroducing a rebooted Superman with a new actor in the Supergirl movie as a supporting role doesn't sound out of the question either.

Are you saying the DCEU is like the comics, where everyone in the universe is off doing their own thing?

They offered Superman to James Gunn and he chose Suicide Squad.
    Nobody wants to touch Superman!
