I have very little faith in WB to adapt the New Gods well.

I think it should be a trilogy like LotR and the first one should focus on The Pact.

Hopefully there's no Amazo Virus in SS 2. I'd rather have it taking a page from Cap Winter Solder when it comes to tone. Shazam looks nice enough, though.

Barda as the focus I can buy given she's a favorite of the director's .

Hopefully there's no Amazo Virus in SS 2. I'd rather have it taking a page from Cap Winter Solder when it comes to tone. Shazam looks nice enough, though.

Why is it so hard to get a good, cloak and dagger, SS story in a movie?

The Amazo Virus is only marginally more appropriate for this team then Black Adam would have been.

If the first movie focuses on Scott and Barda and the second movie focuses on Orion, then the third should be about the war of the New Gods coming to earth and everyone coming together to stop Darkseid’s forces.

When it comes to the New Gods I tend to think of Orion as the main character so I'm kinda surprised that Barda will be the main focus if those reports are accurate.

Ideally I think it should be like LoTR with an ensemble type cast on an epic journey against Darkseid.

I think it probably has to do with the DuVernay's affinity for Barda, although I think she'll probably do right by Scott and Orion as well .

There are too many diverse stories and characters to choose from for New Gods. A Barda & Scott focused movie with the Furies as the main antagonists is probably the best bet for their first outing. Mister Miracle has always tended to be the strongest of the NG titles anyway. And a large part of that has been due to his romance with Barda.

I think Tom Cruise would've been perfect for Hal from the 80s-00s but at this point it feels too late.

Not if they indeed look for Hal to be this old. I think this rumor has always been BS anyway, I'm just tried of hearing Cruise's name being thrown around in reference to Green Lantern just because he once played a cocky fighter pilot before I was even born.
