This is the definition of a nonissue.

    I think both.

Edit: Just Sudeikis, Ted is in the movie apparently: https://twitter.com/elmayimbe/status...57381698883584

A certain director's fanbase love making a mountain out of a molehill for most things related to DC on the internetz so may as well avoid an actor who is recently touched by controversy. DC has already got enough of those.

He writes for a trade (The Wrap), he is as reliable as studios' PR folks allow him to be.

    EW denied it too: https://ew.com/movies/jason-sudeikis...-beetle-movie/

I agree; the fast majority of people engaging in this controversy are Johnny Depp fans. Johnny Depp is well-known celebrity with enormous clout and parasocial following. There are of course reactionary elements that have used this trial to attack #MeToo and other progressive social movements as well. In any other context, I wouldn't have mentioned the anti-DC fandom, but this is a DC forum and I've seen people use this trial to attack DC/WB.

Given we’re on track for a recession soon I wonder how that’s going to affect DC’s plans? We’ve already gotten some cancellations because of Zaslov tightening the purse strings, a Fall recession could really cause a contraction in the number of movies.

    Ok then guess it’s fake.

Well, the casting listing could've just requested a Jason Sudeikis type as body double for Ted. Just the type, that's it.

Sudeikis. Ted obviously has to be there. They won't have another character with the last name Kord in the movie without actually having Ted there. In what capacity would Ted be featured is a different story. His presence could very well be limited to an opening scene or a post-credits scene, but to not have him there at all makes no sense.

From Lizzie Hill, who reported the Ted Kord's casting call:

"I reported the Jason Sudeikis Blue Beetle thing the way I did (as a report showing the evidence, not my own info) for a reason, because it was just this casting call here showing him as "Ted".

If it's wrong it's wrong but I don't regret putting info I find out there.

That being said, it is odd for them to use Jason as an example for "Ted" and have it not be him. An exception being at 1 point they used a Stone image for Victoria before it changed to Sarandon. But Stone was at 1 point considered, so one wonders if it might be same for Sudeikis"

Jason Sudeikis as Ted Kord would of actually made me interested in this movie.

The biggest takeaway I saw from Hamada's testimony regarding Aquaman 2 is that the movie is a "buddy comedy" focused on Arthur and Orm, and Mera never had a substantial role in it to begin with.

Except we know that in an earlier script, she had a much more sizable role. In the update script they cut it down to basically bed rest.

Really? Is that script available? At the very least, Hamada says she was never a co-lead.

I'm mostly surprised about the "buddy comedy" descriptor for the film
