With the rare exception isn't Gunn known for making money though?

Outside of the MCU? I don’t think so.

Excited for The Batman & looking forward to AM2 next year. No interest in BA or not Flash solo Flash movie. At this point I think separate universes are the way to go for DC.

Don’t remember him delivering massive success on his own until GotG, that was his big breakout.

I wonder if they're all TSS spinoffs.

Nope! The DC catalogue of characters outside of the big 6 aren’t strong enough to stand on their own as franchises because most fans aren’t interested in them, regardless how good the film is. Cinematic universe is the way to go
Done with DC. Can't handle the constant whiplash! Time to go on a hiatus!

    I agree with this.

Which once again....why is DC giving Gunn and Matt more DC projects but....Patty and James arent being allowed to expand on their properties? It's so weird.

I mean you make the audiences interested. People joke about everything being a remake or a sequel these days but the fact is that audiences go to movies and TV shows for properties they've never heard of before all the time. Nobody knew or was interested in Detective Benoit Blanc in 2018 and still Knives Out became a hit. I know shared universes make the suits a lot more comfortable making films with lesser known properties but audiences don't really let unfamiliarity with a concept keep them from seeing a good movie

Well, we don't know Patty's not still working on her thing since there's no official word about it being canceled, but I guess with Gunn and Reeves it may be partially schedule/budget based? Probably cheaper to make something in Reeves' Batman world for HBOMax than try to make something with The Trench.

Pretty sure Jenkins is working on a star wars movie after the wonder woman trilogy is put out of its misery

James wan got his aquaman animated series mini

It's probably because Patty is working on the Star Wars movie for Disney.

Plus she needs a writer for the project and Johns is working on Stargirl now.

Actually they are-of you learn to NOT listen to comic book fans with agendas.

Show me the person who thought Blade would have 3 movies.

3 movies BEFORE Wonder Woman, Iron Man & Cap America.
That is 2 more movies than Green Lantern.
3 more than a LOT of guys who have way more solo books than him.

Static was Milestone's lowest seller-yet he is the one with the successful tv series unlike HOW many folks??? He lasted longer than Wonder Woman. Funding killed his show not ratings.

We got too many other comics that have become or will become shows or movies to say DC can't do the same. You got a big enough catalogue to do stand alone one time movies or mini series.

Do we need 8 seasons of Creeper? 100 episodes of Booster Gold? NO.

Have a SET run. 16 episodes of Creeper broken down into 4 4 episode seasons. Film them all at once and be done. NBC did that with Saved by The Bell and those T-NBC shows filmed a set of episodes and split them.

Do a one time decent budget Booster Gold movie.

Most comic book fans aren't interested in them. Casuals don't care if a movie is in a shared universe or not.

Outside of anything linked to the MCU, no.
