These are low estimates but a studio at minimum spends 35 million on Marketing for a blockbuster type film and they receive about 50% of the box office with the other 50 going to the theaters. So, on a film that makes 397 million on a 90 million budget the studio is only looking at about a 73.5 million profit. Nothing to sneeze at but studios are usually looking for bigger profits with blockbusters and this is only if they spent the minimum on marketing.
