I don't see how "real world" Batman has happened so often on the screen that people can say they are sick of it. Most movies and t.v. versions are more like the comic.
Besides, people said they wanted a detective Batman and you're more likely to get that in a "grounded" take but I suspect this won't be as grounded as we are led to believe anyway.
Another grounded or realistic Batman would be a big disappointment. There are so many weird and interesting elements in the Batman mythos and to just do what a Nolan did again but with different actors would be a let down.
"Grounding the character in so and so" is not exactly the same as "grounded". Also, "grounded" itself is not exactly the same as "non-fantastical". A fantasy can have some of its elements grounded in reality too. He literally starts talking about how incredible Batman Returns and Tim Burton's fantastical viewpoint are. How was a "hyper-realistic world" the big takeaway from that interview?

Batman is at his best when he's YearOne/LongHalloween/LotDK Batman. **** everything else (especially JL Batman)
Yeah, at this point "grounded" doesn't mean anything. Man of Steel was, in many ways, a "grounded" movie, and it had aliens and space ships.
All "grounded" basically means now is the director (or whoever) saying that characters will react in a emotionally honest way, and elements of real life will be apparent and obvious.
Besides, how many "grounded" Batman movies have we had? Burton wasn't grounded. The 90's films weren't grounded. Nolan was. Affleck, I think, is a bit harder to judge since he didn't have a solo film. But I'd lean towards him being on the more fantastical side of things.

I sat down and did a check on Icelandic media. There isn't much, but the two major newspapers report on it (Fréttablađiđ and Morgunblađiđ). The incident is reported with Ezra Miller's name given, and with quotes from both some few eyewitnesses and managers of Prikinu cafe/bar. The two newspapers also use different named sources.
If this was Swedish media, the fact that Ezra Miller was named would be hugely significant. Generally suspects are not named in mainstream until a guilty verdict here, and would imply that Ezra Miller himself had been in contact with the papers, and wanted his name printed. I have no clue on Icelandic journalistic practices here, but it's clearly less stringent than Swedish ones.
From what I gather from the articles, the Prikinu bouncers escorted Miller off the premises and possibly called the police. I also believe that Miller is now unwelcome to return to Prikinu. But I also see no references to anyone being taken into custody, or statements from police or prosecutors.
My take: Ezra Miller did an ass of himself, but not to such a degree and in such a situation that he would face prosecution under Icelandic law. I do not know if Miller was provoked in any way. I wouldn't be surprised if both the woman and Miller were drunk, and thus useless as witnesses, and there is no real reason for the Prikinu staff to do anything except block Miller from coming back.
«Speaking generally, it is because of the desire of the tragic poets for the marvellous that so varied and inconsistent an account of Medea has been given out» (Diodorus Siculus, The Library of History [4.56.1])
Did the Ezra Miller scandal went viral all over the media or just online with nerd sites? Is the woman physically hurt?
If not, no biggie. WB will have to have a serious talk with him if they plan to keep him after this. Like I said before, everybody deserves another chance. Other mcu actors have done worse..
This time, the foes Batman is going up against are Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman. From what we know, I don’t know why the story would call for any sci-fi or supernatural stuff.
See, I don't like the Court of Owls (partially for yet another secret organization in Gotham and that it's-always-been-evil thing that I dislike in general, but mostly because I hate it inserted into Dick's past). I don't mind some weirdness, but not them, and not anything about a cursed Gotham.
