Not really. Origins can be covered in small flashbacks and short bits of exposition. Solo films aren't needed.

Except most will be in their 20s and 30s, and the "old" generation wasn't done even remote justice, except Superman and Batman in previous continuities.

Feels weird to whitewash them while they race swap other originally white characters.

It isn't the first time they've been played by white actors. Them being aliens does give them some leeway.

Also, KJ Apa is Samoan on his dad's side. He's just white passing.

I believe they weren't even aliens in this version. But anyway it's misguided at best to call this whitewashing. Of all the characters people like to make the argument that can be played by anyone, this is literally a prime example of that.

So how long before The Flash premieres on HBO Max. At this point noone can actually believe this movie would have a theatrical release. How would they have any kind of press tour? This jackoff plays the title character, he can't be absent from the movie's promotion. That would make WB look even worse.
