I'm honestly baffled at how Veronica is yet to appear in a WW movie. You'd think Hollywood would be all over the "evil corporate executive" gimmick.
Or maybe it's too on the nose for them these days.

There is an alternate universe where the WW sequel was set in the modern day, and Charlize Theron plays Cale and Emily Blunt plays Cheetah*, and we are all better for it.

*Still liked Wiig though, and hope she comes back to salvage what we have

I think Circe is the ideal choice for villain in WW3 no matter what.

But I think establishing Cheetah, Veronica and Circe as the primary villainesses across two films, with maybe Giganta and Dr. Poison II as misc. members of Godwatch, would have been far preferable to wasting our time with Lord and Steve hijacking a body that isn't is.

Pattys said since the beginning that the 3rd film would be in present day. The Amazon spin off film was supposed to show us everything that happened between Diana leaving to Diana returning to the island in the present.

To be honest I don't really love Cale that much as a villain compared to other WW Rogues despite being someone who's enjoyed both Rucka runs so I'm not really all that enthused about seeing her on-screen versus other villains.

The Steve thing was definitely more problematic than it had to be.

The Steve thing was definitely more problematic than it had to be.

They could've just had him materialize out of thin air (like the nukes the president gets with his deal with Lord) and not only would the story not have changed much, that would've fixed that problem. Heck, it arguably could've made more tension over Diana needing to take back her wish than what we got; once it was established that Steve was replacing someone, we all kinda knew that he would have to go away before the end (and gave Diana another reason that she had to let go). If Steve just materialized and could've, in theory, just stayed had the wish rock not gotten out of control, that makes the sacrifice a lot more tragic, since there might've been an outcome where it hadn't had to happen and all that.

Idk, they dropped the ball on 2/3 of Diana's biggest enemies (even if Wiig herself was still the best part of the movie), I'm skeptical that they will suddenly manage to stick the landing on the third.
