With the way things are going it would be better for DC to just put out movies without thinking about a future team up like Avengers.

I know that Flash was going to be a reboot of sorts, but they should just reboot without a story to justify it - people will get it eventually. No one questioned the Batman not being linked

I question why even need a reboot in the first place. Reboots that re write the timeline after the worst parts of comics. I hate seeing it getting incorporated into multi million dollar blockbusters.

No one needed an explanation for why Affleck isn't the Batman we see in the Matt Reeves movies. Just make better movies and keep it moving. Just like the Bond movies did with Casino Royale. Nobody felt the compulsion to do a 'Crisis on Infinite Bonds' or 'Bond Crisis' or 'Bondpoint' and the 'Bond is just a codename' thing is largely fanon (as it should be). They just adapted to the times and tried to make better movies.

Thank you. Not even counting... Marvel has done 3 movies about the Multiverse by now and DC puts one out in 2023.

Marvel and DC will always lean on popular characters like Spider-Man and Batman because they sell. It's basic Business 101.

Cavill has talked about kids coming up to him to talk about Superman and feeling he hasn't got to play a traditional version of Superman yet. If an actor is signing up to be the face of a franchise for multiple movies then having some creative input isn't too much of an ask. Jason Momoa had a big hand in writing the script for Aquaman 2 and pitched the storyline to WB execs during the making of the first film so it isn't like it's unheard of for talent to have a creative role in the development of DC films.
You guys are being willfully naive if you think "passion for Superman" is holding up this deal. It's money, and nothing else. We've literally seen WB produce a Superman on TV that is popular and traditional to most people's liking. Momoa gets to pitch and contribute to his film because the first Aquaman made ONE BILLION DOLLARS! Cavill's MOS wasn't even as profitable as Shazam, which has a sequel and a spin-off with a potential for more! Cavill doesn't have a leg to stand on, and at some point, WB is going to have to stop allowing him to hold Superman hostage.

Except Marvel has moved beyond them on the big screen. We have so many minor characters who've gotten movies and shows. Dc on the big screen....not so much.

Dc Dc though. Those who are featured regularly. WB is more concerned w/saving $$$ on these and thus we have a bunch thst dont really focus on characters w/powers.

Any actual news on any projects recently? I tuned out way back during that Snyderverse bots talk 20 or so pages ago.

Is Cavill really the one holding Superman hostage, though? He just seems to be open to coming back, but it's not like he's pulling a Snyder/Snyder fans type of move.

It's insane. That level of quality production can turn any property into a television landmark.

Marvel’s also set to start lapping DC in the video game arena. They’ve got a ton of games in the works featuring multiple characters, everything from the F4 to BP is rumored. Meanwhile DC is focusing on… Batman. Again. Least there’s a WW game coming.
