We ain't "literally killing the planet". The Greens been promoting that propaganda garbage since the 1970s. In fact, the environmental movement started out as a form of activism to address the kind of pollution that was literally killing humans. It's only recently that the movement has become nothing more than a religious cult full of Luddites who are scared of progress to the point of micromanaging any form of progress, which, IMO, WILL help conserve Earth's "environment".
Has anyone else noticed that WB has put themselves in a similar position to what Marvel was in ten years ago?
Both Studios are having to find success (Marvel did, right out of the gate) with their B/C-list because the big names were unusable. Marvel because they had licensed the rights to their A-list, WB because they've screwed their A-list up so badly it'll take years to untangle.
Obviously tons of differences, but it's sorta funny that Marvel had to succeed without the mutants or Spidey, using lesser knowns like Iron Man and Thor, and now DC has to succeed without Superman or Batman (at least until his next film struggles through production), using Aquaman and Shazam.
I love that Diana dodged the "Trinity bullet" and is now basically the head of the new DCEU trinity (of films that aren't awful).
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."
~ Black Panther.
This is revisionist though, their second movie, The Incredible Hulk, flopped and their third film was Iron Man 2...Also, if we go by box office metrics, neither Thor 1 or Cap 1 would be consider all that successful films now either. The idea that the MCU was this mega hit from the get go is a myth. Even the original Iron Man, considered to this day to be the best MCU film, was completely overshadowed by TDK.

A shame for sure. Seeing the JL we got makes it even more painful. This all sounded so cool a shame WB did what they did hindsight is 20/20 sure they probably regret now not allowing Snyder to do what he wanted let's be honest it wouldn't have cost them as much money and no way it would have done worse in the BO. I really wish Barry could go back in time and warn WB lol.
3 years on and BvS still talked about shows the impact it has had negative or positive. Most CBM come and go but BvS is here to stay. You'd think the likes of Civil War came out 8 years ago! Snyder should feel proud at what he accomplished in BvS. Personally it is my 2nd fav CBM behind TDK (which I recently saw in IMAX and what an experience that was!)

THE CBR COMMUNITY STANDARDS & RULES ~ So... what's your excuse now?
That presumes that there will be some sort of team up movie with them in it anytime in the future. And with The Batman coming out in a couple years I think Batman will regain his role
as part of the trinity. They will probably figure out what to do with Superman too eventually.
Zod looked human. I don't think anyone got upset or cared that Superman killed Doomsday.
You can't really compare how the market was back before the start of the MCU to now. Ironman, Captain America and even Thor's first movies were successes for back then. There has been such a huge explosion of revenue from overseas and how things are marketed now are a lot different. Like that first Ironman movie grossed $318,412,101 domestic but only grossed a total of $585,174,222 worldwide. If you look at the newly released Aquaman movie it has $334,826,690 domestic, close to what Ironman did a decade ago, and is up to $1,146,926,690 worldwide with the explosion of overseas profits.
Uh Marvel still doesn't have the rights to Hulk so idk why the The Incredible Hulk movie is even being brought up as if they did before.
And while Ascended shouldn't have used the phrase "right out of the gate", it doesn't take a genius to infer they meant Marvel laid a good foundation with characters who didn't have the popularity (like some of their other properties).
Also The Dark Knight is not part of the DCEU so idk why the popularity of that film and the praise it recieved is being used as an example to compare with Iron Man when the previous post is about the similar way Marvel and DC are getting or have gotten their properties off the ground.
I agree that the marketplace has changed, though even the domestic numbers for the early MCU films (Thor Cap, Hulk) are lower than any DCEU film. Keep in mind, I'm not saying these movies flopped (well, Hulk probably did) or weren't successful, they just weren't mega hits.
