As others have said it isn't exactly a reboot, and Suicide Squad didn't bomb (maybe critically, but not financially which is what matters). So no, if BoP bombs, no reboots, no more BoP films, not for a good 20 years minimum. Either this film is successful enough to spawn sequels that might more closely resemble the team you want to see on the big screen, or it bombs and that's the last time the team has a movie in our lifetimes. There are no likely "it bombs and we get a great reboot in a few years" scenarios.
At the same time, I think the only reason why The Suicide Squad is being made is because WB went to James Gunn and asked which film he wanted to do for them, and he said "Suicide Squad" and gave a good pitch.
That some of the actors are returning probably says more about the strength of the original casting work that Snyder did than about anything else. Everything else in the movie will likely be all-new.

On Jan 16, 2016, www.cbr.com revealed the results of their poll on the greatest DC characters as voted on by fans. (over 1,200 ballots cast) You can see the results here :
https://www.cbr.com/2015-top-100-dc-characters-100-1/
As you can see, Black Canary's at 19th place, Zatanna at 23rd and Hawkwoman's at 66th.
So it looks like Dinah takes this one ! Congrats, BC ! Other posters have already given reasons why the results shouldn't be surprising.
He is listed as a producer, and while he might not have cast every single actor, he sort of set the standard for the DCEU actors from the very beginning.
And as for a "proper" sequel to Suicide Squad, WB was tossing dirt at the walls with all sorts of projects just to see what would stick. Without Margot Robbie, I doubt they'd have gone ahead with a Suicide Squad sequel, and it'd be iffy even with her. James Gunn wanting to do a Suicide Squad movie radically changed things up.

Lol a poll based on comic fans opinions, once again proving what I've been saying all along. That's like citing Newsrama or BleedingCool. To comic fans she's the number 2 female of the League, but we don't matter, the GA does and to them Hawkgirl is number 2 (thanks to the DCAU). Like i said, take a trip to social media (YT/IG/Twitter/FB...etc) and you'll see what I mean by Hawkgirl is up there with Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter in requests.
No he didn't. This is once again an example of a Snyder fan trying to take credit from someone else and give it to him. It happened with Patty Jenkins and James Wan as well. David Ayer is known for diverse casts, so he should get credit for the first films amazing cast (they deserved a better film).

Agreed, which is why people who flaunt critical reviews at a movie's premiere as carved in stone may not find that to be the case in the future. I can name numerous movies from my lifetime that fill that bill, as well as some films that have been downgraded over that same time.
