Birds of Prey's second official trailer was so much more enticing and I now actually want to check it out for sure.
That first trailer did not excite me at all. Luckily, that changed with the second trailer. Not sure it'll be an opening weekend viewing for me though.
Yeah it’s amazing what a well put together trailer can do. Everything I had seen of BoP up until this trailer had looked pretty bad (including the first teaser trailer), but I’m on board after this one. Still, they really shouldn’t have waited this long to show Roman wearing the Black Mask, Dinah doing the Canary Cry, and Harley in her roller derby costume. It would have put a stop to much of the negative fan responses if they had just released a few of these stills. But that blame falls on WB, not the filmmakers.
If Black Mask is portrayed as a psycho who enjoys torturing people like he is in the comics, him being kind of flamboyant here can actually make that a lot creepier. For example, in “A Clockwork Orange”, Alex likes to sing show tunes and dance around while doing his horrible acts. Makes it way more creepy. In Reservoir Dogs Mr. Blonde is also a psycho who loves torturing people while dancing to his favorite songs. The enjoyment makes it way scarier.

Decent amount of new footage and a better/extended look at the canary cry.
There's finally an original Harley/Joker break-up song now.
I like Colin Ferrel but not thrilled about his cast as Penguin.
I know those pics barely show anything, but I really hope we aren’t going back to DC being more “real world” and toning down the costumes. I hope the final version has the hat, monocle, and all the comic book eccentricities.
I think I recall from the last trailer that Harley hands her the dynamite and says “hold this”, to which Cass rightfully tosses it out the window. So she didn’t intentionally blow them up if that’s the case.
As far as the video, it reminds me that the current music scene is horrible.
