We'll see. I want them to succeed but they have to give us something that's reassuring. Also I'm not sure how much I want Namor without T'Challa around.

Yeah, it sounds like he would play the role again in a heart beat. Can't they just agree to his terms and get him back to the role? His Superman isn't un-salvageable.

TBH Cavill is the bigger loss than Manganiello. Never got the hype for him as Deathstroke. And unlike Cavill, where it's definitely an issue of contractual disputes, this seems more like all the projects that Deathstroke was slated to appear in were simply dropped during the big post-BVS/JL shakeup (Ben Affleck's The Batman, Justice League II, the original Suicide Squad sequel). I don't think there's any malice there.

From the Rock's Total Film interview.

"You get one shot out of the gates to build these characters properly," says Johnson. "We paid attention to some of the pitfalls that other films had experienced in the past, in the world of DC, and what, rightfully, got a lot of fans unhappy and pissed – and, as a fan, I was one of them.

"So, let’s make sure we respect tradition and mythology, but let’s not be handcuffed creatively. We can do anything if we keep the audience first. So to me, there’s a battle that’s going to go down one day, between Black Adam and Superman. I don’t know who that Superman is going to be, and I don’t know who’s going to play him. That’s OK. I don’t need to know right now. But I’m confident in knowing that [laughs]. And that’s based out of what fans want. We worked backwards from there."
The bit about learning from past mistakes is encouraging.

    "New version of this universe."

I'm sure people will take away a lot from that.

Lol bro, those rumors are definitely false. The first Black Panther movie was the most culturally ambitious MCU film. It tried to explore robbed cultural identity, the idea of a cross continental ethnic debt, the consequences of Post Colonialism, the idea of Black Pride, the fusion of Hip Hop Culture with traditional Pan African values, etc. The hero was a cautious black leader vs a radical revolutionnaire. It ended with a secretive Counter Colonialism Utopia opening up to the world in support of their African siblings.

Marvel isn't gonna make a sequel to that movie that suddenly becomes about that fighting another secretive people that live underwater. It totally betrays the thematic ambition of the first movie, as well as the ideas it set up for a sequel.

Flash is likely going to be Affleck’s exit.

If the movie flops I expect he’ll be dropped as well.
