The facetious answer would be 'not the way Slott wrote her/the way Spencer is writing her'.

A more serious answer would be for you to give me a situation and then I could answer more fully. How characters act is dependent upon context.

One of my pet peeves with anti-90s/anti-marriage Spider-Man fans is their complaints about how MJ wasn't goofy or upbeat in the 1990s when the context of the situations she was in wouldn't meant it'd have neither made sense and been worse for the stories for her to have acted in those ways.

If Aunt May is in a coma dying then MJ in character is gonna be upset, maybe tempted to run away, but is gonna stick it out when push comes to shove.

If its her birthday and everything is fine then MJ in character is gonna want to hit the town and party.

So like give me a scenario and I can answer your question better.

Does anybody know what she is saying? It could be Spidey is giving her a web ride (both going to the same location and might be late). However Michelle is afraid of heights (Before she didn't want to go to the top of the Washington Monument giving an excuse but maybe they could play it up she's afraid of heights thus why she has her eyes closed here holding tight. With Spidey swinging up high at fast speeds over NYC anybody afraid of heights such a ride would make a person panic.

Gonna need more specifics, including what you mean by 'met Peter'. Like before she first laid eyes on him or before they first spoke or before ASM #42?

All I can say is it was in character for her to be flirtateous, loved to party, act in the drama club, cry secretly, hide her emotions and goof of for the benefit of others so they'd like her, particularly enjoying the attention from Aunt Anna and getting on with Aunt May.
