In the comic "The Shadow/Batman", there is a moment between Damian and Ra's in which they talk about their relationship. Ra's says that his grandson was his greatest creation and Damian says that Ra's made him a toy in a war that was a distraction to his true aims. I understand that Damian means that he was originally going to be the "recipient" for his grandfather's soul, but why would Ra's say that he is his greatest creation? It's because he had the idea of "creating" Damian, right?

Nah Timmy's just forgetful. So this was set before Batman 50 because Damian,Tim and selina are still living at the manor.

But Tim was with Bruce and Selina? I thought he left after returning and did not spend time with them.

Damian purpose was to save the world. In Batman/the Shadow Ra's calls him Protector and why he was named Damian. his name is Damian "to Tame" There is a theory that Ra's was going to save the world while Batman would doom it.

A few pages back on this tread a poster explains that theory.

No tim wasn't with Bruce and Selina but it's implied he was living at the manor at some point while selina was living there.

So, it seems they just change skin of Damian for the cover, Damian looks so white as Bruce in the internal pages.
