They were attacked in the med bay. It's still very possibly Calvin, but just being in the med bay doesn't make anyone any safer.

To be fair, he was probably at editorial retreats where he had first hand accounts of writers/editors actual intentions of cyclops at that time, not just how rightclops was written to us. So he probably knows the intentions were for rightclops to be seen as a villain, even though the writers didn't make it convincing for us, the audience.

If they follow through with a character reboot, it won't just be the last 17 years. I expect it will be everything back to at least the early 90s. For example, Scott and Jean will have never married, only been dating.

OTOH, the ending of this issue could all be a fakeout as others have suggested. We shall see.
