And I'm not just making a joke here. This position is way too uncharacteristic for Scott. Comic are visual medium, and these things matter.

Maybe he's just a guy who carried the world on his back for more than half of his adult life, found himself obliged to throw himself under a train to save his own race, and be totally and brutally hated for doing it, hated by his own family, hated by everyone. A guy who, even after all this, he continued to be hated even after his death. And then he comes back from the dead and thinks:
"I gave my own life to my people, but what did I get in return for my sacrifice? Only pure hatred. So, damn it, I'm just going to have a beer with my boy."
