I spent two days at the 2018 Rhode Island Comic Con this year. My recap of the event can be read HERE!

I went for the Samsung A8. S9 was out of my price range but if the S9 is an improvement on the A8 I would recommend it. I've also heard the Pixel 3 is fantastic and cheaper, right?

I have the original Pixel, and I love it. I'll be upgrading to the Pixel 3 when my contract runs out next year.

Well it's been a few days, and...I'm still undecided. I wanted to go for the Pixel 3, but it seems to be having quite a few problems. Over heating easily and shutting down being the main one. The Galaxy S9 feels like the safer bet, and my past 3 phones have been Samsung's, but it's for that reason that I wanted something different. I prefer the size of the Pixel 3, as it's a little bit smaller and easier to use in one hand, but the S9 will cost me £13 a month less for the 2 year contract. That's a £312 saving. the spec of the phones is almost ideintical, but the Pixel 3 has an amazing camera. Still can't decide. First world problems and all that.

Some will likely be fixed with software updates but I can't see how they'll fix the over heating that way. Could end up recalling the phones.

I don't know a great deal about it. The Pro version has cropped up on quite a few "top smartphones of 2018" lists though. I've been so focused on the Pixel 3 and Galaxy S9, I've barely looked at anything else.

It'll probably be a few months before I'm looking at new phones. Hopefully it'll be sorted by then.

Hopefully they'll update future phones by tweaking hardware. I'm going to hold back for a while and wait to upgrade to see what happens. I'd rather buy the Pixel 3, but I don't want a dodgy one obviously.

Another Pixel 3 bug has cropped up by the looks of it...

The Pixel 3's early teething troubles aren't over yet. Users are reporting that some of their text messages are disappearing, It's not clear whether it's an Android-level bug or specific to the Messages app, but some owners believe the issue might have begun after installing the November 5th security update. Needless to say, that's more than a little worrying if you haven't backed up your texts and you'd really like to remember a conversation with a loved one.

With the camera app not saving photos quick enough, the over heating problem, the bad RAM management and now this, it hasn't been a great launch for the Pixel 3!
