Default The Omni-History of the DCU Timeline

This is a project I have been working on for years and years that came out of my futile attempts to create an up to date timeline of the ever-changing, ever-evolving DCU. The idea is that the entire history of the DC Universe is contained on a single pocket universe that contains all the most iconic elements of the DCU, but without any sliding timeline. Superman debuts in 1938, Batman in '39, Wonder Woman in '41, Barry Allen in '57 and so on, all the way up to the current events. I have made a few tweaks here or there to make everything fit nicely, but otherwise it is designed to read as a fictionalized history of the DCU as if it was all happening in real time.

If you are interested, here are the links to Google Docs of the history. It is fully illustrated and contains as much DC goodies as I could cram in. Enjoy!

Feel free to make any comments for any additions or changes you think I could make.

Here's the second part, covering the debut of Superman in 1938 and the rise and fall of the Golden Age of Heroes.

I'd forgotten this bit. I'd lost track of this bit of Earth-Two history:

"Catwoman’s infamous criminal exploits took an unexpected turn when the jewel thief abruptly reformed, then later disappeared without a trace after learning she was pregnant with Batman's child."

Thanks for the reminder. Really cool documents. DC should publish something very like what you're doing. It's very reminiscent of History of the DCU by Wolfman/Perez, directly after CoIE.

This is my own addition. I handle the Earth-1/Earth-2 split a little differently, as you'll see in the next section covering the Silver Age. This is not history of the DCU exactly as it happened in the comics. This is an attempt to collect all the various incarnations of DC's various conflicting continuities into one history that combines elements from all of them.

Here's the next part, covering the creation of Earth-1 & Earth-2 and the Silver Age of Superheroes to Dick Grayson leaving for college in 1969.

And here is the appendix, in which I try to explain all the various ways everyone has managed to stay young all these decades, and the handful of changes made to accommodate squeezing an 80+ year continuity with countless contradictions and reboots into one single continuous history with no sliding timeline.

    Enjoy!
