Daredevil Actor Peter Shinkoda Claims Jeph Loeb Made Racist Comments
https://www.themarysue.com/daredevil...h-loeb-racism/Peter Shinkoda, who played Nobu in Netflix’s Daredevil, has accused Marvel Television chief Jeph Loeb of racist comments. Shinkoda alleges that Loeb made specifically anti-asian claims as an excuse to cut storylines for his character and and Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho). He made the claims during a livestream hangout for #SaveDaredevilCon, where he discussed the series alongside fellow actors Geoffrey Cantor (Ellison) and Tommy Walker (Francis).
Shinkoda said, “I’m not into really protecting, you know, certain things anymore but Jeph Loeb told the writers room not to write for Nobu and Gao and this was reiterated many times by many of the writers and showrunners. He said, ‘Nobody cares about Chinese people and Asian people. There were three previous Marvel movies, a trilogy called Blade that was made where Wesley Snipes killed 200 Asians each movie. Nobody gives a **** so don’t write about Nobu and Gao.’ And they were forced to put their storyline down and drop it.”
Shinkoda added that much of his character’s backstory was dropped saying, “the writers told me that they regretted, they were reluctant to do it, they were so stoked about including that in the storyline but they were prevented, so I had to concoct this other storyline and rock that material that I was given …”
Damn. I was a big fan of Gao but felt she went out on a whimper. I didn't care for Nobu but maybe these dropped storylines would've changed that. A multiracial Iron Fist could've been interesting but Danny's pretty weak as a character to me so its more of a step one type decision than an automatic game-changer.

Jae Lee to Tom King – "We're Not All Good"
Comic book creator Jae Lee is barely on social media. He only posts occasional pictures of his artwork and photos of his dog, Loki, on Instagram, about once a week. But today he responded to the social media storm that began with Tom King two days ago, and exploded, despite attempts to quell it. Tom King added hours later that he had spoken to Jae Lee, saying "We're all good". However, Jae Lee writes today;https://bleedingcool.com/comics/jae-...-not-all-good/Two weeks ago, June and I took Loki to San Diego to see a specialist. He did not survive due to complications from the surgery. This past Friday was supposed to be a day of mourning. We were back in San Diego to pick up his ashes. We were going to take him to the beach and comfort each other by sharing our favorite stories about our little boy.
Instead, a part of the internet I avoid like the plague came barging in. I had companies I'm working for calling me, friends reaching out to me. I'm seeing hate pouring out of strangers' mouths, accusing me of things I have no knowledge of.
I'm seeing first hand how fast lies are spreading. Let me be clear, I'm not part of ANY group.
We never made it to the beach. We spent the entire six hour drive back home on an emotional roller coaster.
I'm writing this because I'm angry. These irresponsible tweets are not harmless. They do not just go away. They have real world consequences. They can take away your job. Your life. Your memories. June and I were robbed of a special day. So, no, we're not "all good."
This isn't the start of a conversation. This is the end. So please, don't drag me into a world I never wanted to be a part of, nor will I ever want to be a part of.
I want to honor Loki by going back to producing art made with love. For people who enjoy it for what it is. Something that hopefully brings joy into their lives.
Mommy and Daddy miss you so very much, Loki, our love.
I definitely don't agree with what King did. But if you're gonna do something then you should own up to it. It's impossible to believe that Lee didn't think he would get any backlash doing a cyberfrog cover. I mean he works in the comic industry and he's not aware of what's been going on the last 3-4 years? What has he been living under a rock the past few years? Nah man that doesn't add up.

Lee doesn't use social media, which is where the majority of this comicsgate controversy takes place in. He also doesn't live in America or speak English as a first language.
I don't see how one can say they don't agree with what King did and say Lee is also at fault. This whole thing happened because he jumped to conclusions about Lee.
Ellen DeGeneres Show 'under investigation' following claims its set is 'dominated by fear'
https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-e...161.html?amp=1Former employees of DeGeneres’s series accused its producers of fostering an environment filled with “racism, fear and intimidation”.
Ten individuals who used to work on the show, and one current employee, anonymously alleged to BuzzFeed News incidents including being fired for attending two family funerals, and producers joking that two black employees look similar and may cause confusion.
Many of the accusers alleged that the show’s environment is “dominated by fear”, and claimed that employees who don’t raise concerns about work hours or microaggressions are rewarded.
A source claimed: “They feel that everybody who works at The Ellen Show is lucky to work there – ‘So if you have a problem, you should leave because we’ll hire someone else because everybody wants to work here.’”
DeGeneres, who is is reportedly worth $330m (£264m), was not directly blamed for the workplace environment in these particular instances.
However, weeks before, she found herself at the centre of several accusations of “mean” behaviour after comedian Kevin T Porter pledged to donate $2 to a Los Angeles food bank for every “insane story” his Twitter followers tweeted to him about her.
Wiley is to be blunt a middling Rapper in a genre that gets little traction outside the UK, but he has to resort to conspiracy theories to fathom how Drake got where he is?
Like Young Money and Cash Money are some underground thing.
Dude probably also thinks the world is flat.

Fam. Couple questions, assuming this rollout was to happen anyway (YUH-RIGHT lol) how much was the UPN catalog and two where is Homeboys in Outter Space? We're a generation out from that gem at the same time the Sci-Fi culture is way bigger than it was back in the late 90s. Lol, CW was like, we got these dancing frog bumpers too if you want em,
Beefing up the old home security, huh?You bet yer ass.
I'm guessing there's a package deal in involved.
Like they would have had to buy shows like Malcolm and Eddie, The Hughleys and In the House separately.
