That the Pandemic has forced hundreds ( if not thousands of ) Employed Americans to have to BEG ( that's what GoFundMe is, begging) for help in dealing with medical bills hasn't made anything click for most of them either.

Medicare for all is Socialism but begging money from strangers off the Internet is ok. Somehow.

What I find funny is folks were claiming it did not matter because folks were hungry and they had no time to take those out. Yet if OBAMA did that-food would get tossed or time would be found to get rid of those flyers.

Then we have Veterans programs asking for donations to support veterans, who sent you an envelope with a flyer pretty much calling Biden a Socialist and to vote for Trump.

My church stopped getting food baskets from that vendor with the Trump flyers.

I told off the veterans program and they have not ASKED for donations since.

Hey, this kind of criticism of writers in the comics industry isn't some new thing that some "cabal" of fragile redditors or what-have-you just now invented, and especially not with Bendis specifically. It's kind of been a thing with him for a while now.

The point here is that it was inappropriate and just very, very tacky to bring in your personal anti-Bendis hate into a discussion about the frustrations of those screaming anti-queer rhetoric at the slightest hint of queer representation, as well as those who unethically stoke and then profit off of such screams.

The pandemic has almost completely exposed and to some extent broken American capitalism.

Millions of people across the country (and in Canada too) have simply refused to go back to lower wage jobs. It's a problem without an immediate solution and things might even get worse (at least in Canada as the government has raised the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour which is well above what some jobs are paying currently). Why work and be poor when you can NOT work and still be poor??

A generation of people have been taught that if you get serious, get a job and work hard things will be alright. Things have changed unfortunately and with government policies over decades skewed towards helping business owners and not the workers, costs have gone up while wages have remained relatively stagnant. People are now waking up to the fact that some jobs are simply not worth it and government aid is simply better.
