We don't have those here in Texas. Unions are banned.

It took way too many folks walking out of education for the state to ORDER school districts to increase everyone's salary. And this was before the Pandemic.

Because way too many teachers had 2-3 jobs. We won't talk about school clerks working like slaves and could make twice the amount at Wal-Mart.

Same with nurses and diagnosticians. Diagnosticians could make up to 3 figures in private practice.

We WON'T talk about insurance. $1,000 a month for insurance just for ME was where I would be NOW if they hadn't gotten new plans. Heck there are folks paying $2000 a month and they barley go to the doctor or have serious if any medical conditions.

if universal healthcare was a thing, even more pople wouldn't work.

That is the real reason it will take ages for it to pass (if it ever does here). Employers would lose a way to hold onto employees. How any teachers would walk off if not for the benefits? My wife would have 100% quit during Covid if not for health insurance.

But what would constitute evidence that they were not? Current Conservative ideology is about individualist and universalist/nationalist values. Hardly a place that could support affirmative action hiring.

I just tend to lump people who point out the GOP is not racist because they have "Those people" as they call them working for Fox News as mildly racist.

There's a commenter on the Wonder Woman boards who does the same thing of treating gay and bisexual as interchangeable terms when the discussion of Diana being bisexual comes up.

He is a very homophopic guy. There is no middle group you are gay or not. For years I identified as gay. And now I found a woman that I really like and am compatible with. We have known each other a couple years but just started seeing each other romantically for a little over a month. This is a very confusing time for me to say the least. I am wondering if maybe I am bi. Of course he is not having any part of it. I am a flat out queer gut who is trying to cover my pervert life style with this poor woman. She is very much aware that I identified as gay.

So any one who says they are bi is flat out gay and trying to hide it. And there is no such thing as a bi woman. They are just seeking attention from men by claiming they are into women. And he is very very upset at how gays have taken over tv and culture and it should just not be allowed in any form. The Superman being bi is a way for the far left to brain wash our kids and try and get them to change their sexual identity.

Needless to say I have very little to do with him.

Yeah. It seems as if it's best to cut ties with this guy altogether, or otherwise get as close as you can to doing so if your circumstances don't align with leaving this guy in the rearview right now (and then cutting ties with him as soon as you're able).

When Obama was first elected we a had a couple months of talking heads on TV asking if this is a sign of us living in a "post-racial" society. But after his inauguration, people started protesting him with not just the "socialist" charge, but people showing up with nooses and others claiming that Barrack and especially Michelle were the true racists and they hate white people.

People would still work, but yeah a lot of folks would feel free to quit jobs they don't like. I don't how many times I've heard some variation of, "I'd leave this place, but I/my kids/my wife would lose my benefits."
