Eh...not too sure. I was excited for the jungle book since I wasn't 100% familiar with the property (never seen the full cartoon besides clips) so seeing the movie was still new to me.
Same reason why I'm down to watch Mowgli since it's a retelling of the book which I never read. So that's probably why I'm not too interested in watching it. Though I am interested in the new Mulan movie funny enough.

Hey look, Supergirl actually hired a Latina actress to play a Latina character this time.

Yeah, but the show has landed square on X-Men levels of tone deafness. The antagonist this season, Agent Liberty, is a thinly veiled trump allegory, who used the genocide of the natives as an excuse to kill aliens.

Supergirl herself likes to preach tolerance, but she's a pretty white girl who could pass for humans by not using her powers. The only redeeming factor this season is Brainy. Brainy's a delight.

Hey that's no way to talk about the best DC show on TV. But seriously I've also had issues with this season and they are similar to the issues I have with the whole minority-mutant metaphor the X-Men like to do. While I don't agree with Liberty's killings the guy kinda made some good points. I mean tbe president was secretly an alien passing pro alien bills and sure she was benevolent but something like that breeds paranoia. Also from his origin episode I found it ridiculous that alien damage isn't covered by insurance. Don't get me wrong the guy is still a villain but t by that fact isn't going to make me forget that Earth has suffered from three alien invasions in the last three years.

Also while I'm ranting I'll say that the ending of the most recent episode of the Gifted was crazy too. So every incarcerated mutant is now free. Hey that's great for the ones who were arrested for loitering but what about all the murderous ones. Last time they set one free and she killed 37 people. Since I know that a great deal of X-fans are white I wonder how they would feel if I, somehow, released all the incarcerated black people guilty or innocent.
Somewhere, a nerd cries. I feel nothing.

I really, really don't like the Aliens as immigrants metaphor the show decided to run with. DC citizens aren't like Marvel's whack-ass pitchfork bearing loonies, losing their shit at the slightest provocation. They're used to unusual stuff and have a waaaaay higher tolerance for it. Like, who the hell could ever live in Gotham City if the people weren't tough as hell? Is National city in South Carolina or something? The citizens of Metropolis would be like "We like it weeeeeeeird!"
No longer 'Biden' our time, hur hur hur.

The depiction of Agent Liberty in this show becomes even dumber when you consider what he and Manchester Black were like in the source material.

In the comics, Agent Liberty was a former member of the CIA who left the organization after becoming disgusted with their methods and the types of mission he was made to undertake. He became an anti-authoritarian, anti-fascist vigilante. The guy is the opposite of a Donald Trump.

By contrast, Manchester Black in the comics is a pro-authoritarian and pro-fascist villain. The type of guy who would make sense as a Trump analogue.

They should have had Liberty have the personality of his comic counterpart. Hell, have the guy who plays Manchester Black in Supergirl portray Liberty to have a black superhero who opposes fascism (it would certainly have been a better choice than the Guardian nonsense with Jimmy). Black could have served as the anti-alien bigot on the show.

Or just scrap the plot line all together.

I've defended a lot of DC's changes in their adaptations. Hell, I stood by Liam Neeson as Ra's al Ghul simply because I thought it was some smart commentary on how terrorists can look like anybody. Supergirl's version of Agent Liberty and Manchester Black aren't one of those changes I'd defend. I personally find them to be among the worst choices they've ever made.

Lemon realized that his respectability politics thing flew out the window once Trump got elected.

Plus Trump makes personal attacks against Lemon on the regular, so of course Lemon wouldn't shake his hand.

Obama aside, if I were George W and Jeb Bush I wouldn't even let Trump attend in the first place if I help it.

Don't stream shame me. I see pieces on YT but I'm sure it's sliced bread. Us cord cutters have to piece things together best we can and I will catch up. Prolly even buy it on the physicals.

If you had told the 10-13 year old me how much cape shit there was in this brave new world... pshhhh still, the wildest shit is that fuckin' POLARIS has her own TV show. If I'd have heard that back in 1988, gtfoh, I've have went to the authorities and said a guy tried to lure me into a van with bullshit stories about superhero TV shows in the future.
Beefing up the old home security, huh?

Both Agent Liberty and Manchester Black were anti authoritarian in the comics but Manchester Black is a gender flipped expy of the Authority's Jenny Sparks.

So if any character is gonna be made into a Trump like punching bag its going to the be character NOT based on a Warren Ellis character.

BTW, is Panther's Quest on Netflix yet?

you can buy them on amazon individually. 2dollars for standard definition

could get expensive for the whole season I guess but id rather pay 2dollars for 22 minutes of cartoon than 4 for 10 minutes of a comic lol

Black Panther got a Best Picture nom for the Golden Globes.

    https://edition.cnn.com/2018/12/06/e...ons/index.html

I honestly don't care if it wins, just the nomination is enough.
