Well they could have pulled the reason of genes made her a black girl born white. Since it does happen and we got a tv show called Shameless on Showtime using that reason for the black kid (who is white in the UK version).

Otherwise why couldn't she have been biracial? I did have a classmate whose sister was light skinned (think Mariah, Jurnee Smollet Bell and the guy playing Salem on Sabrina (Netflix version) had a kid) and he was Manute Bol darker. Yet had the same parents.

^Anybody checked out this comic? Came out in December I think, but I just became aware of it a few days ago. The main thing that struck me was the similarity between the title characters and a character I'm working on (some here may remember I'm an indie writer/creator). Here is the concept art for my character done by artist Glenn Brewer (https://www.instagram.com/geebeezy3/ ) back in 2018:



Neither of us invented the idea of a skeleton of course, but the fact both characters are wearing a "ribcage flak jacket" has me now in the process of getting the character redesigned once again. It sucks because that little addition was my favorite part of the redesign Glenn did here, but I'm not trying to have Dark Horse serving me papers lol. My books are super SUPER indie and it's doubtful they'd even be aware, but since they published it first I'm taking no chances lol.

I also plan to pick up this book my next trip to the comic shop. Lemire writes stuff I like sometimes...

So here's a redesign done by artist Charlie Goubile ( https://www.instagram.com/newfabcity/ ). He came up with the idea of an exoskeleton. I like that, but think I'm going to get another redesign where the exoskeleton is closer to looking like a human skeleton than what's shown here.

"Had to do PR training and was told I came off too angry, which honestly just made me more angry," Boyega wrote on Instagram as a caption for a video showing him explaining more about how the PR training made him feel.

"'Your eyes...you can read very angry. So let's just lighten up that face, let those muscles be a little bit more lighter and then we can get more positivity from you, okay?'" he said, repeating what the PR trainer told him. "I'm just there like, 'No.'" Interspersed in the video are moments where Boyega is having fun on set, refuting what the PR trainer felt.

From what he says in the video, it could be read as the PR trainers insinuating that his Blackness made him appear threatening, something a lot of Black men and women have experienced in their professional lives. It's a shame Boyega had to deal with such treatment, but if we look on the bright side, Boyega's Star Wars compatriots seem to back him up.
