The circumstances of Sam becoming Captain America in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe are drastically different than the comics, but the development is significant all the same because it comes at a time when this franchise is meant to be changing, from both within and from the outside. With the first main phase of the MCU out of the way, a new, more diverse generation of heroes are being elevated to positions of prominence in films and series like Falcon & Winter Soldier. But in order for these projects to really feel like thoughtfully-crafted narratives, they have to address some of the more evident realities their characters are dealing with. In this instance, it’s the fact that old white Captain America’s out of the game and Sam’s ready to make the title his own. What exactly does that mean to the character and the world around him? How might his experiences running around in red, white, and blue be different from his predecessor’s?
And McGruder just shared Huey's new design.

Forgive me if this is a repost. Recall some recent convo on here about the upcoming Yasuke movie starring Chadwick Boseman. Saw a link for this web comic about Yasuke earlier on facebook: http://ytbs.thecomicseries.com/

Falcon is now Cap America in the era of Trump-you can't HELP but talk race now. It can't be avoided. An article by Charles-Pulliam-Moore of io9 about how important it would be for the upcoming Falcon & Winter Soldier t.v. series to discuss race.
Someone is going to ask why Falcon and not Winter Soldier? Or an unseen US Agent?
And honestly wouldn't the President have something to say about that?
That is a whole series by itself.
Anyone here excited about the upcoming Miles Morales mini for Absolute Carnage?
"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."

I just finished going through this twitter thread and this article that expounds on it.
Though I, to the best of my understanding, am not Asian nor Asian-descent, the parallels were real. It goes to show how similar many experiences of marginalized people the world over can be. Emphasis mine.
Interesting. I like the look and aesthetic they're going with here.Originally Posted by Joshua Luna

On another note, I wonder will all the Woodcrest kids (Huey, Riley, Jazmine, hopefully Ceasar, and Cindy -- whom I count despite technically being a minor character) have a chance to be more consolidated together in this new series/season at some point like in some of the later comic strips (to my remembrance)? In a friend-group or clique equivalent where they find themselves keeping each other's company throughout the episodes? Or will they be utterly separated like they tended to be on the show?
Caesar gets a five second background cameo and Huey actually wins a fight. #boondocks2019
Bringing back Cindy McPhearson would be better, imo. She was funny. Caesar had exactly one good storyline in the strip, and that was trying to get Condoleezza Rice a man.
"A happy ending? So unlikely. We're not having a moment here.
Wrong city, wrong people, all huddling in fear.
