Funny, I just had a debate with someone on Facebook about this. The person claimed that Blue Beetle shouldn't get a movie because his comics don't last. I pointed out how comic sales don't matter when it comes to movies being successful and how comics cater to a very niche, monotonous audience whereas movies do not.

Case in point, we live in a time where so called A-list heroes are being outgrossed by so called B-list and C-list ones... Hmmm

This was the SECOND comment on Bleeding cool when they mentioned his movie. Sales got bought up. And folks reminded that guy about Antman.

They love to toss that out. Yet you look at who had a show or movie-long comic book runs are MIA.

Someone in another thread tried to bash Moon Girl, Squirrel Girl & Ms Marvel on their sales. I kindly pointed out how all three have higher trade sales on Amazon. We won't talk Kindle-Ms Marvel, Carol, Jane, SG, Moon Girl, Gwen & Riri were top 100. Outside of Doomsday Clock & Hero in Killing Titans & Batman White Knight-Dc Rebirth mainstream was MIA.

No one could honestly think the general audience cares about comic book sales.

Most folks don't know who was a comic or not because all we see get shoved in our faces are Batman and friends.
Like those DC 100 pagers and even the Archie Marvel digests. It's always the same folks with the excuse-they SELL!
Or posters and prints at comic cons-it's always the same FOLKS.
Then you wonder why we see bootleg items of John Stewart, Panther and others-because they are the only source we have to get that.

Jaime was also derailed by the New 52. They took everything that worked in his OG series and did a complete 180. Then he was tossed into limbo for a good 3 years, to push Vibe, despite being a big part of YJ season 2.

Same thing happened to Static. Yet we got told it was still our fault for not buying the book.

Cyntoia Brown was behind the 8-ball before she left her mother's womb. Given her age, history, trauma, and clear indication of mental instability, she should not be serving 50 years. She does need some form of incarceration, but her circumstances are so extreme, she deserves some special consideration. Her incarceration deserves more rehabilitation, rather than punishment.

But in Tennessee a "Life Sentence" is 60 years. Because she got time off for good behavior, the Tennessee Supreme Court ruled that Cyntoia Brown DIDN'T actually get a Life Sentence and so her
her punishment DIDN'T violate the 8th Amendment.

Yes, the Tennessee Supreme Court used a loophole as a justification of this evil BS sentence.

Remember, this is a minor killing a john who had solicited said minor for sex. No one is disputing that.

That **** only makes sense you if are a Pedo John or are planning to be one. There is no other way to read this.

The dead kid fucker matters more than his victim and all the Pedos out there in Tennessee can breathe a sign of relief.

Marvel routinely tells directors they will cover the action sequences.

It is basically the house style at this point... bring in smaller director, marvel is already streamlined to handle the action set pieces and cgi stuff. So the movies are all "similar" but the directors add in their flare on the genre.

So, this person basically got told what most directors got told, complained about all the house style stuff (music, cgi, "lasers," action) and then tried to turn it into a feminist issue.

Now more than ever it seems like there's this clash between big flashy franchise movies and these small indie movies, but without the big flashy ones studios won't have enough money to make the smaller ones. Artsy films have a reputation for being esoteric for the sake of being esoteric, and that people who enjoy superhero movies are too stupid to get their vision.
