Are they shedding tears of joy?

This is America pretty much broke the internet last year. There were variations of that song popping up in other parts of the world.

It's been speculated that many of the usual Black attendees got tired of showing up only to get snubbed for a White act and just stayed home this time if they weren't performing.

Drake accepting an award just so he could tell the audience that the awards don't matter at all is causing people to speculate.

Oh no, it's the classic tears seen when a black artist reaches top of the crop.

    The classics were

"I never even heard of this song."

"Who can a rap song win when it doesn't even win best rap category."

    "Lady Gaga was robbed."

    You know, the usual.

Remember he 2 kids, got a tv show called Atlanta, 2-4 movies (one with Shuri herself) and lost in father before 2019.

Along with stores (at least around here) not stocking his cds until MONTHS after they come out.

He has been way too busy to both with music and that is why he retired.

And Drake stated what many have wanted to say for years.

You bust your ass at your craft and still get passed over for whatever flavor of the month or whoever said F-U Donald Trump or whoever acts an azz online that pops up. Hi Tiffany Haddish.

And when you do earn a nomination-the LINE starts to the left with folks (ESPECIALLY FAKE WOKE black folks or BITTER black folks like Dr Boyce Watkins or Shawn James) taking issue with it and saying you got nominated out of pity of SJW politics.

See Black Panther. See Moonlight. See Dope.

Meanwhile Donald Glover & others were working and getting ignored. The real folks who are making every single racism EAT their words.

Plus, she doesn't have the range to be singing those songs, either.

Getting back to race, they should have had a black artist headline the tribute, since I'm sure when Jennifer Lopez or any other artist of Hispanic descent needs a tribute, they're likely not going to let a black or afro-latino artist headline. Hell, they had a Dolly Parton tribute last night, and everyone was white.

Not saying, non-black people can't do a tribute to Motown, because they absolutely can, but, again, they wouldn't pull that with country or reggaeton. She could have been one of the artists they brought in to sing a song, like they had with Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, and Smokey Robinson vs. singing a whole melody.

Should have got Janelle Monae to do it.
To make it worse reports are Lopez lip synched the performance pretty much. Plus as this claims it was completely tone def to do this. J-Lo as pointed out seemingly made the performance about herself and being a latin pop star. Not the great soulful hits of Motown.

Also complaints about how the Grammy's missed the mark on rock bands as usual , as well as not honoring Vinnie Paul who died last summer in there "in memory of..." list as Paul was part of the heavy metal icon band "Pantera" is just more icing on the cake of a shit show.

Cardi B might be problematic as hell and quite trashy but some of her songs beat so *shrug* I think i have two on my powerlifting playlist.

Iyanu: Child of Wonder (2019) // YouNeek Studios

t has been over a thousand years since the age of wonders. A time where the divine ones blessed humanity with spiritual, structural and technological marvels. But in the blink of an eye, it all vanished, and all that was left were remnants of an ancient, advanced civilization. As humankind forges ahead, culture becomes knowledge, knowledge becomes history and history becomes mythology. Until Iyanu.

A teenage orphan girl with no recollection of her past who suddenly discovers that she has hidden powers that rival the divine ones themselves. As Iyanu tries to come to terms with her new abilities, the people of Yorubaland become aware of an ancient evil that has reawakened. And all that’s left between them and destruction are the memories locked away in the mind of Iyanu.

I'm finding these Aladdin complaints to be weird.

It is a live action adaptation... it makes sense for the genie to look like the actor to an extent.

And, te "will smith acting as will smith" line is so old and cliche and people just say it because it makes them feel like a film critic

I think people have considered the Grammys out of touch for years. It's known that it's not a fan thing or a critics thing, but an industry thing and the industry just isn't as powerful as it was decades ago. It's become less and relevant in the minds of the public and people who are still interested can just watch the highlights online the next day.

Not really feeling it, but may check it out because they used Sa-Roc ( the best rapper alive imo) in the trailer.. If you like real and intelligent hip-hop music look her up..

Personally I'd have been fine if they just put Smith in a costume and left it at that. It isn't like anyone would have been confused about who he was supposed to be.
