This is more me than anything. I always saw Carol Danvers as a PAWG.

I actually have seen of Gal exercising. She is one of those who can't put on mass to save her life.

I think she would have made a great Talia Al Ghul to a relatively young Batman.

Gal & Snoop Dogg could clear out a buffet, and still not combine for 350 pounds.

I swear people didn't start caring about superhero actresses bulking up until Gadot was cast as WW. You never saw/see these complaints with Johanssen, Melissa Benoit, Elodie Yung, not with any actress who has played a comic character with super strength.

"I want someone with ACTUAL MUSCLES to play Wonder Woman, not a supermodel." Honestly, Gadot looked fine to me, Granted I may be wrong, but Wonder Woman has always looked tall and athletic, but not super bulky to me, unless she was being drawn by Alex Ross, he makes her look like a defensive lineman.

Which is weird because she was really thin for like thirty years and then Mike Deodato started drawing her and she got ridiculously thick. Even in her current uniform, dude can't help but draw her as a preening porn star.

Check Carol out in Avengers Annual #10 which was Rogue's first appearance. Artist Michael Golden drew Jessica Drew as a PAWG, too.

Even before that, Dave Cockrum drew Carol like a brickhouse.

Yea I've always felt Carol had a volleyball player physique back in the day, not an easy find in Hollywood considering what a lot of men find healthy or fine, TPTB claim she's fat. Cho slimmer her up and then stuck Beyonce's hair on her. I'm old though, I was a kid when the Wonder Woman reruns came out in the 80s and I'm still team Linda Carter. Gadot is cool, I'm still rockin' but outside of her frail lookin' ass, I have trouble understanding her some time is all, I'm like c'mon now. Chris Pine is my translator over here.

For what it's worth almost all of Jack Kirby's women are thick including Sue Richards.

What you sayin' Ed lol, If Big Barda isn't my favorite female in comics I'm gonna have to think hard about who #1 is. Hollywood is getting closer every year to casting one. Look man, you ain't gonna find Scott Free's wife on no Vogue runway that's for damn sure. Betta not.

Folks talk about Kirby-dots, but only a few & the brave will give a shout-out to Kirby-thighs.

Kirby could have drew the comic version of Janet Jackson's "Pleasure Principle".

I'm looking to see who plays Barda in live action.

I'll always see Whedon as a talented humorist who is really good at getting big laughs and is very talented at directing ensemble pieces, but people praising him as like some uber-feminist are nuts. Buffy is the work that got him all that praise, but Buffy is also the show where the lead character gets traumatized after losing her virginity, nearly gets raped twice, where the only gold star lesbian in the entire series gets shot in the neck, and basically all the **** in the world gets dropped on the chicks. Didn't Anya literally die and get forgotten in the last episode? Tossed aside like trash and never mentioned again, lol.

TBF, I don't think people started caring about movie super heroines at all until WW lol. It also doesn't help that her costume is rather skimpy (for comic heroine standards)

Also, tbf, I don't think the casuals care one bit...

I care more abotu the fact Gal acting is... not Oscar worthy lol

Ha yeah I thought Cho did a really good Carol. Tbf I think Brie has a better body than what's presented in the movie it's like they taped her body parts down not to offend people lol.

You mean the movie or comics? The movie version isn't as skimpy and the comics have followed suit. It's the exact redesign fans have been asking for.

I don't think Gadot is a bad actress at all. Then again what qualifies as Oscar worthy these days isn't always impressive.

Movies. Compared to the other heroines in recent times, her outfit shows off a lot more skin. (and to reiterate, I am not saying it is too much, just for comparison to others).

Widow, Wasp, CM, Gamora, Mantis, SW, Okoye, Nakia, Shuri, Valkryie, Sharon and I am sure I am forgetting someone are covered head-to-toe when in their super hero outfits.

On the Fox side, you have OG Mystique naked and blue and Emma (which is totally in character).

The only super hero outfit that really compares to Gal's is... Psylock (which looked stupid) and I am not sure anyone remembers that movie and she was a bad guy (like emma nad mystique) lol

Anyone, to come full circle, the reason why she gets so much **** is because she is actually playing a heroine people care about and her costume shows off a lot more skin, which makes her lack of muscles bother some people. Can't complain about muscles when they are behind leather suites

Superhero actors have to buff up, because it is mandatory you seem them shirtless every movie lol
