HEY KIDS, (BUY MY) COMICS!! https://www.mythworldemedia.com/store
I hate stuff like this.
Oh Raven from Teen Titans was gonna be black, but calling a black person Raven is so wrong so instead of tossing the name we got rid of the skin color lololololo.
Oh Dazzler was was based on Grace Jones and even shared similarties with her from skin color to hairstyle but we changed it lololololo.
Oh let me show you these concept art of these characters as black people, that we didn't go through with, I could have saved it to myself and showed the design process with them being white since that's what they canonically are lolololololo.
It does not make me happy to see or hear why creators didn't go against the grain and went against a concept that would have been creatively different. Despite the saying "It's the thought that counts" that does not apply to representation and no pats on the back will be given; in all honesty those little factoids should have been kept to themselves.
My priority is black female characters; everything else is secondary.

Jason Schreier should really win an award for breaking some of the industry's biggest stories the last few years. He's that darn good and really takes the job serious being a games journalist. I have seen videos where its something he's broke news wise and people detail it in video.
"The story so far: As usual, Ginger and I are engaged in our quest to find out what the hell is going on and save humanity from my nemesis, some bastard who is presumably responsible." - Sir Digby Chicken Caesar.
“ Well hell just froze over. Because CM Punk is back in the WWE.” - Jcogginsa.
“You can take the boy outta the mom’s basement, but you can’t take the mom’s basement outta the boy!” - LA Knight.
"Revel in What You Are." Bray Wyatt.
Then again, given how the internet has reacted to a white Abby, maybe not having her be black was dodging a bullet.
Question: Has there ever been a witty satire/spoof on “Oscar bait” when it comes to films depicting the past ordeals of marginalized communities under oppression? Like an “uplifting” film that’s 4 and a half straight hours of activists getting their asses kicked or worse for being different and marching? AND all while an extremely slow and sad rendition of an otherwise spiritual song plays in the background? Like, think of a sequel to Tropic Thunder where that ******* exec played by Tom Cruise greenlights a film called “Mutilated but Unbroken” or “The Power of Masochism” which is very much depression porn centered on such struggles, and claims (implicitly or otherwise) to make anyone who sees it turn into a fountain of newfound empathy after one viewing.

It was John Romita Jr that was pushing for the Grace Jones version of Dazzler. Originally, Marvel had a deal with Casablanca records and there was going to be Dazzler records and movies and the comics were going to be another form of merchandise. Originally, actress Bo Derek was going to be "Dazzler" or whatever they were going to call her. When the project never materialized Marvel decided to do their own character that they could own completely. Supposedly, at one of the pitch meetings JRJR said something like, "You guys don't understand this scene at all. I actually go to the clubs" and told them it'd be more realistic to make her more of a Grace Jones influenced character, but the editors weren't having it.
