Katt Williams was bang out of line IMO.

While I agree that being “ghetto” shouldn’t make you a star (it’s something that’s being talked about lately but it’s not a discussion I want to dive into) he straight up lied about his ticket sales and Tiffany Haddish’s tour. He was just flat out hating and instead of owning the hate, he told a lot of lies to big himself up.

Katt Williams wouldn’t be where he is today if he made better life choices and evolved as comedian. It’s unfortunate but he’s been left behind. Thank God for Atlanta (and thank God that teenager didn’t choke him out).

I dunno...she's showing less skin but that doesn't automatically make her less sexualized.

She hasn't been sexualised in any of the photos thus far. Not to the extent of comic Kory at least.

    Got to politely disagree.

That group photo with the hand on the hip? That is some solid sexualization.

Maybe not to the "Out Of Hand..." degree that it is in comics, but it is.

Qualifying statement: There is nothing wrong with this. Good.

    But...

Was there a rush of, "Kevin Feige says more black led Marvel movies are in the works" after Black Panther broke every single record in existence?

I don't remember them. I honestly could be miss remembering. But I don't remember seeing any lists, articles, ect about it despite BP's now proven success on a massive scale in the theaters, blu ray purchases, new cartoon coming out, toys and other merc. Hell, even his comics do better than most now.

Yet we have been bombarded by "more female (probably white) led marvel movies!" just because one is finally scheduled.

    Am I just remembering wrong?

Probably not -- but then he might not be asked about that as much in interviews given the nature of Hollywood.

Regardless, talk is cheap and Marvel is smart to hold it's cards close to it's chest -- for all we know, the Ultimates is the next big franchise in the pipeline, with all of the spin-off potential that entails as well.

"Usually, we get three stand-alone movies for a single hero, then some team-ups. But is there potential in Black Panther beyond that? I see people saying, “I want a Dora Milaje movie. I would like a Shuri movie.”

Do you see more potential there, or do you think you’ll stick with that kind of three-act structure that you’ve followed in the past?

I think there’s lots of potential. It’s a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much, but I would watch a movie about any of those characters you just named.

I think Shuri’s astounding, and you’ll see much more of her in our universe. Okoye, I think I’d watch three action films just Okoye. I’m not saying we’re doing that, but I’m saying that we’re intrigued by them. Frankly, as I’ve said before, finishing these first 22 movies is really all we’re thinking about at this point."

    My thoughts exactly.

We only have one (1) black led Marvel superhero movie and NO female led MCU movie...but somehow Feige is somehow declaring the "future as female" (most likely white female).

I'm not against female led movies at all but come on..BP should have opened the doors for more black led movies.

This just the status quo being the status quo. Don't forget Marvel Productions still works within the Hollywood establishment...same establishment that says black led genre films don't sell overseas despite evidence to the contrary.

Having said that, I am a little surprised that we haven't gotten a BP rip-off at Redbox or something

Yeah, like I said it could I simply don't remember... but..

WW comes out and makes 820 million WW and you had articles clamoring for WW to lead the DCEU, Why hasn't Marvel released a female lead, ect.

CM just now got a trailer and all we have heard is constant talk of "the future is female!" stuff. With the only rumored movies being more Captain Marvel and being 5 years late on a Black Widow film.

Meanwhile, BP comes out and breaks a billion by himself, breaks 700 million domestic, was a damn phenomenon... and I don't remember any, "BP should lead the Avengers!" talk or any push for say a John Stewart/Steel/Vixen/whoever DCEU movie.

Just seems odd. It seems like hollywood is acting like BP was an outlier.

    "Seems like?"

I'll just say that there's a reason why Tyler Perry left Hollywood and went to Atlanta while Robert Rodriguez works out of Austin -- and likewise why actors like Grace Park and writers like Kenya Barris are speaking out about their negative experiences with the studio system despite the fear of blacklisting.

The bias is blatant and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any real influx of female-led/produced films either -- believe it when you see it.

That said, it's still up to people do for self if they want to see real change in society -- whether in film or otherwise.

Fair enough. Still pretty tame though but fair.

The comics jumped on the BP train (solo, multiple spin offs, BP back on the avengers, ect) to an extent.

Cartoon world jumped on the train. I am really excited about the BP cartoon starting this weekend.

The merch world jumped on the train. A very very very high percentage of kids "avengers" clothing has BP apart of the quartet now (Cap, IM, Hulk/Thor, BP) which is simply amazing lol.

But I expected Hollywood to follow the money and it is dead silent outside of Wesley teasing blade stuff every couple months lol.

Yeah, I have an article on that and the new Tomb Raider that I need to put up -- personally, I think it's better to focus on being a part of the solution than worrying about things you can't change (Hollywood, for instance).

Besides, the money they don't make is the money you can get out there and take, if that's your goal -- crisis equals opportunity, as the saying goes.
