I'm a bit disappointed Netflix whitewashed Winx club characters, this was one of the shows that had a diverse cast before it was trendy. But I'll still give the adaptation a watch, I just hope they don't mess up Avatar too. Their track record for casting is not good.

I find it funny they think changing a character's name would make us not notice the whitewashing. They have the exact same powers.

On a positive note the special effects look great and Aisha looks like a badass.

I only recall seeing Bloom and Aisha's powers. Did the Flora and Musa stand ins use their powers too?

    Also, where's Tecna?

I saw Stella using some of her light powers.

There is no Tecna, they removed the technological element of winx. Some people are speculating Tecna was changed into a new female specialist character. The Actress looks like Tecna.

They also removed two of the Trix sisters and made one of them a normal fairy. Which is weird, people liked the Trix sisters just as much as the Winx club.

I gave up on Avatar after the original creators/writers or whatever left

That series is doomed. They are 100% going ot miss the "point" of the show even if casting is ok

The original creators were also responsible for the considerable flaws of Legend of Korra. If the Netflix series does fail I'm not totally convinced it will be due to their absence.

Disappointing but not surprising I won’t be watching....

Yes the same book where WW put her HAND somewhere between Steve's legs. Make you wonder what other comment got edited out of that scene.

I did like Avatar, but I can't watch it again because of the fandom. Same reason I could never get into Harry Potter when I was in middle school. I'd like to see a new Redwall adaptation though. I love Redwall.

Outrage fatigue is also a thing. Aren't these people tired of being mad all the time?
Not if it gets them attention and hits on youtube. Especially if they can feast on the weak minded or get folks to agree with them.

Some do it because they have stuff and this is the only way they can get attention. Sad thing is it does NOT help them sell stuff. They just sell to each other.

I still wonder why grown men were freaking out over Moon Girl some years ago when they were clearly not the target audience.
Easy they see a threat. They saw something that was going to attract something that they didn't want in their hobby. At least not coming in the way THEY want them to.

What did Moon Girl do? A book with Devil Dino lasted almost 50 issues.
A book starring a BLACK female lasted about 4 years. She is the record holder.
A new original black female lasted about 4 years. Not Storm or Vixen.
She is looking at her OWN tv show.

I think a lot of these people actually enjoy fighting undesirables but that is a different convo lol)
Most folks fire back because they want the truth out there versus a collection of lies.
Especially when some of the toxic collective constantly step over the line.

That is what John Boyega was talking about when he said protect folks.
Heather Antos doesn't bother anyone but she gets daily death threats in her mail.
Gabby Rivera left comics over death threats.
Redjack got tired of it too.
Lets not forget the governor of Michigan-a kidnap plot over face masks?

They are remaking the first one, not Korra

Certain people get really bent out of shape if someone dubbed the best be that smartest, fastest, strongest, etc. is anything but a white man; hell some of them get bent out of shape if it's even arguable.

DC has been putting out these YA novels for a couple of years now and DC's put out a bunch of them, but only a few books have gotten this reaction. I believe it's cuz certain a title may start trending, an anti-SJW content creator notices it and knowing the prejudices of his audience invents a reason to be "outraged". All these guys copy each other, so instantly you have dozens of people complaining about a piece of media they haven't consumed.

Unfortunately, it's profitable...it's the sad lesson of the Capt Marvel movie "get woke go broke" vids.
I don't quite understand how YouTube views equals money for content creators but I've seen that certain people can make a living at producing videos. Especially if they can get a YouTube following big enough to follow them as a group to Twitch where the real money apparently is.

That alone explains all this. That's even with me knowing from experience how many of those dudes aren't joking about being upset about corporate trying to broaden the appeal of their IPs.

I noticed 3 videos about Starfire's Gay daughter came out on YouTube in like a day. I there are probably more YouTube videos out about that character by now than there ever were about Starfire, decades of tv presence and all.

Being pissed off all the time can get you paid if you work it right, I guess.
