It's his job to sell whatever's in the ring. You'd never see Gordon Solie putting himself above talent like that.

Solie never had a guy stick his hands in his pockets , make a match into a comedy showcase as I have seen. If he had , he likely would be asking WTF he was supposed to call here ?

What is there for him to sell? Orange is a lazy bum who refuses to put effort into anything he does. How do you sell that to a mainstream audience? It's garbage.

i can understand JR not getting OC, which is fine. best left to guys who get him and his appeal, like Excaliber.

I am surprised at the subdued NXT this week. Are they forfeiting the competition. Are they going to stick to the niche of being a pure wrestling show?

This is definitely not a Vince response to getting your butt kicked by another company.

My thing is that AEW makes the claim that it's presentation is more like a real sport than the WWE. But Orange Cassidy just proves the only difference is that instead of using cheesy stuff that Vince thinks is funny, we're seeing cheesy stuff that the Elite thinks is funny.

Not that I think it's necessarily wrong to go the sports entertainment route... but I think NXT still has the crown for having the best alternative to the main roster WWE product.

Honestly I don't think Vince is going to lose sleep over NXT losing to AEW. I think that's the point of pitting his C brand (and I know some people disagree with that, but it is what it is) against AEW. It's a developmental. NXT can't win, therefore it can't really lose at least as far as perception goes. All it needs to do is hold it's own, and maybe carve a piece out of the AEW audience, and I honestly think Vince will be fine.

If it were Smackdown or RAW, things would be different.

What is weird is Cornette brought up the whole Cassidy deal and how its supposed to work if your selling serious sport and hire guys you think are funny.
