Which tells you that no one, who heard it had a problem with it initially. Trust me, if Camille had a "wardrobe malfunction" or James Storm started dropping f bombs, it would have been edited out.

I have to say Cornette made Powerr authentic. The only two announcers I could see keeping that would be Jim Ross and Schiavone.

Yeah, I think in some ways that bothers me more.

The powers at be in NWA allowed the line to go through, THEN turned around condemned it when they allowed the line to get on air in the first place. That shows a complete lack of sincerity to me. They only had a problem with it when other people started making a big deal about it.

It'll be interesting to see who they replace him with. I won't say he's irreplacable or anything like that ... but Cornette definately added something to the overall old school package of the product.

Between the Arik tweets, the shit he's said about Justin Roberts and Riho, and this Cornette can keep his racist ass far far away from any wrestling product I'm spending money on for good.

I've been done with Corny for a long time ... but ... he still gets views and gets work.

I'm 100% sure Kairi would have an easier time having a top spot in AEW than the WWE, but that's not necessarily because they book their women better. It could entirely stem from there not really being any competition for her at the top spot. In AEW she's not competing with Becky Lynch or Charlotte Flair or Sasha Banks. She can step over Riho and Brit Baker without breaking a sweat honestly. Riho is sort of a poor mans Kairi, and Brits entire character is based around being an dentist. A freaking dentist. That's what she's competing with in AEW. She or any other top WWE female star would be running the division in a week and a half.

I assume Kong can work a basic match or why sign her. She would have to be carried, but that's fine for a monster heel who is twice the size of most her competition.

When I have a champ, I want to know how much momentum a performer would get by beating them. Beating Riho doesn't mean much other than becoming the new champ. Kind of like beating Tony Nese for the cruiserweight title.

AEW hasn't been around long enough to say that they know how to push Japanese talent. They don't have a Japanese star yet.

Both Riho and Kairi are champs of poorly run divisions IMHO.

Speaking of women. While I abhior men vs women matches, I truly hate a quality big man being put to pasture. The match between Tessa and Brian Cage was ridiculous.

Cage is Impacts Brock, and you have him lose clean to Tessa. You do nothing to protect him at all.

We talk about being buried, much like HITC match killed Seths curp stomo, the #1 contenders match on TNA killed Cages whole entire offense.

Tessa can take Cages offense but can't take Riho( for example) . She didn't outsmart Cage. At points, she dominated him. I wouldn't have Lio Rush dominate Braun.

Just earlier, a powerhouse like Jordyn Grace had problems taking out Johnny Bravo( a non wrestler). Johnny Friggin Bravo got more protected than Brian Cage.

I hope somebody gets Cage out of that promotion.
Cage had some protection, Tessa was fresh and he had just wrestled Swann(though Swann should've been easy to beat by that point)

The reality of pro wrestling is that for the most part, the powers that be don't live in the same reality that most of us do. In our reality, a black face t-shirt would not be put on sale. A transgender woman would not go by the Beast, there are no dick flips, and so on.

Cornette is kind of like Bill Maher. Progressive for his era, but in some occasions an out of touch dinosaur to this era. It doesn't mean that he is talented and doesn't have occasional good points, but when the rubber meets the road, he is going to have some "offensive" takes.

You hear a lot of the big older names in wrestling, and you see Bill Watts is still revered. Hogan is one of the good ones. Moolah was good woman who was just a little too focused on money. Probably because they know them as friends, and we know them in the abstract, so we don't make excuses for them.

I am trying hard to take my natural adversion to intergender match away from my take.

Cage is a face monster. He is billed as being this superhuman. He is a top guy in your promotion. Tessa is 5'5" 130lbs and Cage is 6'0" and about 270. Mysterio is like 5'6" and about 175.

I wouldn't have Rey Mysterio beat Cage like Tessa beat Cage.

What made me laugh is that Tessa acted like she was having a match the caliber of WALTER vs Tyler Bates. The crowd was not reacting that way. That match had storytelling. That match had believability. Tessa was hitting Cage with power moves. Jordyn Grace could get away with that but a wrestler who is about 125 lbs.. C'mon son

It's basically a squash match because Cages best couldn't beat someone less than half his size.

Just like a squash only one person got over in that match. After this match, you probably don't even have Tessa fight women anymore.

She can beat Cage clean but has trouble with Kiera Hogan

Speaking of women, I really liked Kris Statlander's debut. She's got some promise and Dustin sold her well on commentary. I could see her in the championship mix before long.

I get what he's saying, though.

You don't book Rey Rey to go over Bork Lazer in a strong squash.

Thank you. If Rey beats Brock this Sunday. It's a no dq match. He beats him down with a lead pipe, and Brock is protected and Rey is a bad ass for using his slingshot against Goliath.

If he beats Brock with a 619 and a roll up, then I will feel the same way.

As much as I'd love to do an AEW Review tonight , ongoing cable issues has me not able to do one. I have to get it resolved which sucks. But hopefully ill be back next week for one. AEW has really made me enjoy doing them after years away.

I remember Joey Styles got fired from Evolve for making some sort of politically incorrect joke too. In todays enviroment you just can't get away with as much anymore.
