I think it was started by Dutch Mantel.

Who knows if it's true... but one has to wonder how different the product would be if it were sold. It's an interesting and scary thought at the same time.

Dutch Mitchell made it known. I can't see anyone buying WWE during this time.

Often people with money actually buy at times like this. They potentially get it at a better price than they would otherwise. Though obviously there's more risk.

That said, this definable falls under the "believe it when you see it" category.

Who would be dumb enough to make a large acquisition when doing business is restricted?

If they can get it at a fraction of the price, they might. It depends on the price and how long they wanna gamble the pandemic lasts.

I'd be surprised if it happened. I think Vince will probably hold onto the WWE for the rest of his life at the very least. Afterwards, it's anyone's guess who will own the WWE, and whether or not things will change for the better with, say, Triple H or someone else in charge.

Even though WWE stock is down from a couple of years ago, they are operating really solidly and had better earnings than expected. They aren't losing money so a sale doesn't make too much sense--they won't get what their worth in this market and it's unlikely they can find someone who wants to over pay.

That said, when you consider the WWE Network, WWE Studios, the top notch productions staff etc. There's a lot of different pieces to the company that companies would be interested in.

If the pandemic doesn't end soon and let's be real it's not WWE is a sinking ship so it makes sense to sell now.

WWE is not a sinking ship. Unlike most other businesses they are actually set to still make a profit.

Due to the misspelling here, my first thought was, "Yes, it is a red herring."
Watching television is not an activity.

Ratings have gone down. Live event sales before the pandemic were down. The last video game tanked.

With all that said, I believe stocks are up.
They have about 2 billion in TV contracts plus the Saudi.

So yeah, I have no idea where people get the idea of a sinking ship. If they are a sinking ship then every other promotion is Atlantis.

And that's something Vince really has to be credited for. Despite live events and ratings on the decline, he's managed to pull out some pretty impressive multi-million dollar agreements. Say what you want about him as a booker, but as a promoter he's off the scale.
