They have the talent, they just need to use it. This is a big problem they've had for ages and they've yet to really do much to address it.

Their roster is stacked. Styles. Bryan. Drew. Wyatt. Black. Orton. New Day. Once quarentine lifts you get Reigns and Owens back. Not to mention people they can bring over from NXT.

They've just done nothing to make people care about the majority of their roster.

Plus the cinematic wrestling has, for the most part, been pretty fun so far.

Still, the last RAW also highlighted what you miss from the crowd. Beckys reaction was great, but one can only imagine what it might have been like with an actual crowd in the arena feeding into it.
Becky did some good acting I wish they woulda given her some fake tears tho. That dry eyed crying was a little much lol.

The rush to repeat the past is what hurt the WWE. The idea to bring back Brock , Goldberg and repeatedly bury their brand new stars to the past was just stupid. Lesnar's last run ended lackluster as we saw. What did it accomplish at all ? They basically screwed over the guy they spent months working to make a big star in Kofi to try and do a program they rushed (Lesnar vs Cane) then basically had to scrap it.

Then they buried The Fiend to Goldberg for a stupid move. Where as the WWE of the past would want Goldberg to put over their brand new growing star ....NOPE. Gotta recapture some past nonsense.

    Probably for the best.

While it might have been fun for Sami to pull a MJF, the IC belt is probably needed to help elevate someone. WWE needs to start building up a few new faces to make up for the loss of talent they're going through, and the IC belt is an easy way to accomplish that.

The same could be said about the US title but you could easily forget Andrade has the belt with as often as it's defended. He could be doing the exact same thing he's doing now without the belt and it wouldn't make any difference.

And based on how they've treated the IC belt over the past year or so, I have no doubt it will be the same. Nakamura was on TV, what, five times in the entire time he was champion?

They'll make a big deal about this tournament, give the winner a push for about a month, and then the belt (and the champion) will be an afterthought again.

That or they'll just give it to Corbin.

NOt saying the IC belt will gurantee they make a new star... merely saying it's more useful a tool around the waist of someone who won't be sitting at home in the foreseeable future.

And if/when Sami returns, it's an easy fued to determine the "real" IC champ as he never lost it.

I don't think they'll give it to Corbin since he seems to have his own thing going on with RAW right now in addition to his feud with Elias. He seems to have his hands full.

Corbin is going to Raw for a one off match. He isn't feuding with Drew. Lashley is next in line according to reports. Corbin could easily win the belt and his feud with Elias can easily be melded into the tournament.
