Is that even legal? He wants his talent to kill off their other revenue sources. This some domestic abuser type **** right here.
meanwhile on Smackdown, Bayley turns on Sasha
Roman's promo was very good, he already feels refreshed character-wise as a heel.
The Women's tag match was very good. Bayley, Sasha, and Shayna all looked awesome. Nia was, there. The post-match beating, FINALLY, was tremendous. If there was any doubt that Sasha is meant to be the babyface in this feud, giving her the "fighting spirit" babyface moments during the match, and just how vicious Bayley was in her attack, should clarify things. Really great stuff.
I will say, I hope Sasha ISN'T out for very long, for two reasons. 1. The SD Division is thin, and Bayley's run through most of it, so if Sasha's away for long there's little for Bayley to do. And 2. This feud is red hot right now and keeping her away too long risks cooling it off. I'd have Sasha come back no later than HIAC. Given that she's lost both of the first two women's Cell matches, her beating Bayley in one, would be very fitting as well.
The ME was solid, Jey winning was surprising, but intriguing. It protects Riddle and Big E and it could further cement Roman's heel turn if he brutalizes his own cousin.
Overall, really good show.
I think Sasha should be gone until the Rumble. The moment Sasha comes back (preferably with a live crowd) should be electric. Enough time has to pass so that Bayley thinks she's gotten rid of her and moved on towards her next feud.
I think it's great Jey gets to do a singles program with his cousin! It's true that they can give singles specialists a run with the title! But I wonder what Paul had planned in putting Jey in the match randomly?
Trying to keep Sasha out for FOUR more months would be a huge mistake imo. They've dragged this whole story out for so freaking long already, and they've done the injury angle with Sasha so many times, I feel like it'd annoy people more than make them excited.
WWE needs to learn you don't need to drag stuff out as long as possible all the time.
Plus SD does not have the talent to keep things interesting that long without her. Bayley has beaten pretty much everyone else there already, no way they can keep her going with Sasha gone for that long without it getting stale.
Bayley is 1-1 vs. Naomi (just lost to her in Beat the Clock) in title reigns and she only wrestled Carmella once--and her win wasn't clean. She hasn't feuded with Dana Brooke or Mandy Rose yet. (I know I know)
My gut tells me Peyton Royce moves over and starts a program with Bayley.
That was a *dark* episode of "Smackdown", particularly given that " Smackdown" is supposed to be the lighter WWE brand.
Bayley attacking Sasha worked in narrative terms. But, it was a tone shift that is at least as severe as the flashes of decency from the Miz in recent weeks. (Even if I did not prefer "standard" Bagley and Mix, I would still call the shifts abrupt.)
Heyman's promo and Reign's turn were well handled. Heyman being almost the devil was consistent with the tone of the episode. Nicely evocative of CM Punk in 2011.
Sami Zayne v/s Hardy is growing on me.
Really hoping that Alexa Bliss is going to be used in more than vignettes. (That Funhouse vignette was awkwardly placed.)
The briefcase moment with Miz and Morrison was the sort of thing that only worked because of them. (Badly composed, but well executed.) Much like the split screen moment with Caesaro and Shinsuke, it seemed to be more an afterthought, because the creators neededvto lighten the episode.
By the end, I was thinking that Big E was comparatively lucky to have been hospitalized. Given the way last night's episode went, Big E could just as easily been left sobbing in the ring, crushed by despair and loneliness.

Those aren't exactly super-exciting feuds. People have been very patient with how long they've stretched this out for. But if you finally get them excited by doing the split, then go "but now Sasha's going to be off TV for FOUR MONTHS" I can just see a lot of people going "oh come on, stop stalling. You've dragged this out long enough, just do it already."
Both the Intercontinental champion and the #1 contender for the Universal title have DUI arrests on their records. The Universal champion and the #1 contender for the WWE title both have had wellness violation suspensions.
Just throwing that out there.
In that same respect they've teased this for so long that doing the big payoff at a D-List PPV like Clash of Champions seems like a waste.

I'm sort of torn on the Sasha/Bayley debate about how quickly they should pull the trigger on that feud.
I DO agree that they it would be a waste to have it on a B level PPV. It's arguably the biggest match womans wrestling match you can have with the current people on the active roster. And with all the build up, it deserves to be on a grander stage.
But the Royal Rumble is a LONG ways away. The only major PPV between now and January is Survivor SEries... which is more a RAW vs Smackdown thing. That's not necessarily an ideal envorioment to have their feud either.
In hindsight maybe they should have waited a LITTLE longer for the turn... but whats done is done I guess.
It's possibly a grey area though. I imagine the WWE clause is something along the lines of owning the wrestlers real names in conjunction to them acting/doing wrestler stuff for teh duration of their WWE contract. and If the wrestlers act on twitch/youtube etc in the exact way they do on WWE screens, then that's where it potentially becomes murky. If (just using them as an example) the New Day are playing video games on twitch and acting like their New Day characters, then a lot of people will watch because it is "the New Day playing video games", and them not referring to themselves by their WWE names in the stream etc might not be enough to cover them.
I imagine WWE's view is that if a wrestler is profiting on their WWE success but trying to cut WWE out of the money by using real names that they should still get some of that money. Doesnt mean that the clause is legal of course. I dont profess to know eithr way. But it could easily be something that needs to be challenged and won in court by a wrestler or group of wrestlers to show that it isnt.
Lesson here, read your contracts. And if you dont understand what it means in regards to when and how WWE might have a claim on your legal name, dont sign without getting advice.
