Big Dave reported that AEW has been in talks with two major TV networks over the weekend. AEW crew was spotted in Atlanta that weekend so the speculation is that Turner Broadcasting must have been one of the networks.

They just need to avoid the mistakes TnA made, because there DEFINATELY is room for more than one wrestling company.

If they can avoid spending themselves under the table by keeping costs managable, they should be okay. The key is to NOT try and compete directly with the WWE anytime soon. Focus simply making a profit and surviving the next couple of years. Worry about competing with Vince much later down the line.

Yup, this is where TNA went wrong. Got too ambitious too fast. Build your audience slowly over time. As Daniel Bryan would say, Wrestling fans are fickle. They will turn on you quickly so you have to build and solidify your base. This will take a lot of time.

Yeah, I thing somewhere along the line the audience did turn on TnA. In part that might have been due to their identity crisis of sorts... they went from being an alternative to the WWE to being WWE-lite. And short term that probably gave them a small boost, but in the grand scheme of things I think it did more harm that good. Then ended up damaging their brand name, so to speak and I'm not sure they ever really recovered from that. Even today, with a pretty good product from what little I've seen (I only watch Impact sporadically now), they seem like an after though with all the hype AEW is getting.
