Same. You did not have quality matches back then like you did now. The ones in the past were mostly crap so they were bathroom breaks.

Paige might be bitter she missed out on this wave. Sadly she'll never have her elimination chamber match, iron woman match, hell in a cell match, etc etc.

Technically, she's not completely wrong. A lot of fans either didn't care or acted like idiots when the serious women wrestlers were around back in the day. Part of that is the presentation and sadly, part of that is a lot of male wrestling fans being misogynistic dicks. Going PG helped a bit with the fans by getting more women and kids in the arenas, but the WWE *finally* changing how they presented women's wrestling via NXT and the initial main roster call-ups of Charlotte/Becky/Sasha gave it the shot in the arm to move forward.

Someone on another site posted a video from back in the day where Ivory was talking to Jerry Lawler about wanting a legit women's division/the women to be treated as more than just eye candy/sex objects. And not only did Lawler treat her like she was a heel for saying that, but the crowd booed her for it as well.

So both WWE AND the fans were at fault I think.

I m not excited because i don't trust Vince and his group of writers that they're dropping their eggs in one basket on certain people on the main roster and NXT call-ups not getting tv time make them irrelevant on catering.

Aleister Black and Ricochet feel like they could be called up relatively soon logically. Ciampa and Gargano feel like they still have unfinished business down in NXT first however.

HOPEFULLY this Super-Brock reign of terror will end at Mania with Seth dethroning him. And then the Raw ME scene cane actually feel open and progressing for the first time in years. Well they might need some new challengers, and here you go.
