basically no holds barred. non sanctioned means AEW wants nothing to do with the violence that follows.

The Universal Title has been, mishandled almost from the beginning:

-Finn is the first champion, then has to vacate a day later due to injury. Ok that's not WWE's fault, that's just plain-old bad luck.
-Then they have KO win it, not a bad idea in theory. But they undercut him by A. Only having him win it because Triple H helped him, and B. Taking him from a guy who, while he was willing to take shortcuts at times, could just straight up beat you as well, he beat Cena clean in his debut match for goodness sake, to a cowardly idiot who couldn't win anything without his buddy Jericho helping him.

-Then they put it on Goldberg, a 50+ year old semi-retiree who hadn't wrestled a match in over a decade. They make KO look like crap by having him get squashed, then Goldberg does nothing of note with the title and it's only there to be part of his feud with Brock, when said feud didn't need the belt anyway.

-Brock's neverending reigns strangling the life out of the Raw ME scene.

-Roman winning it, then having to vacate it.

-Etc.

Then they wasted the potential of guys like Joe, Braun, etc because they kept feeding them to Brock on top of it all. The belt, feels like it's cursed almost at this point.
