We keep repeating ourselves every issue haha.

This is gonna hurt when Acuna leaves. Holy moly i love this art.

Is T'challa using soul stalking when he does that "RDJ Sherlock Holmes" thing? Is it just artistic license on how T'challa's brain works during combat? Is it part gear? I can't quite figure it out.

I'll be curious if Coates solves the 100 mysteries going on at the same time. It feels like we are going to need an exposition dump issue to catch everyting up to speed.

    My lord that art...

end of spoilers has been this whole time?

Did she escape multiversal destruction by running to another universe or something?

I am goign to assume at this point she is the ticket back home for T'challa.

It is still rather interesting that T'challa is still kinda sorta a side character in this arc.

he is a very very very very very good warrior with a ton of mystery surrounding him.

Like, he isn't actively driving the plot outside of maybe the first issue. He drops in for a mission, kicks a ton of ass, they leave mission, Killmonger shakes his fist at the end lol

interesting theory. I feel like this arc is going to drag. We are on issue 4 and this is probably going to go till issue 9 or 12

With mystery stories, it all hinges on the reveal.

Longer you drag it out, the bigger the reveal has to be to meet expectations.

You know how big of a missed opportunity it was not to have this type of story right after SW?

You could easily explain it with having T'challa on that Alpha flight that got sucked into a worm hole and he ended up here.

not only would the action packed story been a greater introduction to those 200K readers... but it also would have given Marvel a year to stall to see what the movie was about to do.

Then they could have copied it as soon as T'challa got back to the 616.

heavy handed slave allegories in space with fighting and space battles is much cooler than rape camps, boko harum, and changamire yackity yack

It's honestly too much action and not enough moving the needle forward. It was refreshing the first time when BP did his star wars millenium falcon impression, but we get it-he can beat up alien grunts with ease and this is reparations for goon slam gary gate. However, we have Nakia, M'Baku, and Killmonger in attendance and they all feel a bit wooden.

KM i can give a pass bc mysterious villain stuff, but last issue Nakia had the first 5-6 pages with N'Yami and then BP, but it was largely an information dump with only one hint of life (sarcasm towards BP's attempt at a joke). All that sneak attack/ambush/manifold stuff could've been done in one issue (this issue), and last issue could've been a break in action to sell us on BP/Nakia/M'Baku.

I'd feel different if the action was moving the plot along but iat times it just feels like dbz filler.

    - mission
    - t'challa beats ass.
    - some mild exposition about the mission
    - shits doomed
    - T'challa beats a whole lot more ass
    - exposition about tchalla being special
    - killmonger shakes his fist in anger
    - last page reveal

    rinse and repeat

It feels dirty complaining about all the action after asking for MORE action in season 1 but yeah, you are pretty much dead on.

Right now, the book is very pretty art, name drops of people in the mythos, lots of action, a slave allegory, and a whole lot of questions
