Default Last Movie You Watched Part II, Electric Bugaloo

New thread as suggested by mod Matt.

Title as suggested by Information Geek in another thread. But more appropriate here.

Carousel, 1956. Filmed in Boothbay Harbor Maine, which I had just visited.

Rogers and Hammerstein doing what they do best.

Interestingly, Frank Sinatra was set to star in it, when he pulled out last minute to go to Africa to be with Eva Gardner.
Joel McCrae stepped in and did a fabulous job.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Okay, but I can't edit the title.

I did not like Alien Covenant. Too grim and a mean ending.

    Ah, Alien Covenant.

Few movies made me roll my eyes as often as that movie did.

Anyway, watched the Simpson movie today. (again obviously)

It still holds pretty decently in my opinion.

Outside of the medbay scene and the general scenery porn, Covenant was genuinely hilarious to me.

The last film I watched was The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007). I watched the movie all the time when I was younger, but I hadn't seen it since then. I was able to pick up on some details I had missed before, but I remember being a lot more invested in it previously. Still, even when I was younger I remember liking the remake better than I liked this sequel to the remake.

    "You're dead!"- Soldier
"You first"- Lightning, Final Fantasy XIII

"Yes, boo, cause this is Calvin Klein and I don't play that ****" - Tanisha

"You look like a fairy princess...that resides over the pits of hell." - New York

Finally watched Rogue One. Meh - supposed to be shocking that the leads died. The Force talk was so forced, so to speak. The space battles are truly unrealistic for a techy civilization. What else is new?

Saw Fantastic Voyage (part of) this morning. SFX still look good after all these years. Last full movie I saw was Them. Last animated movie was Justice League Dark.

I'm kinda surprised you even bothered to watch it. (free on tv?)

if you wanted 'realism' you probably shouldn't be watching anything Star Wars oriented to begin with.

at least some Royal Marines played convincing extras, right? ;-)

    Default Unbreakable

I saw this for the first time two nights ago. It kept my attention. I liked the ending but the acting was so dull with no charisma whatsoever. Having said this I might be interested in seeing the next movies.

Bad boys 3 was fun. It reminded me of the 90s.

Haven't seen it in ages but Willis is horrible in general. For me it fit the movie because he is in a state of depression until he emerges as SPOILERS

    Invisible Man

I didn't really liked it but i seem to be in the minority according to the reviews. The Invisible man is supposed to be pretty smart yet has a massive oversight towards the end that left me scratching my head. Also felt like that same story could have been (has been) told without an Invisible Man so what was even the point.

Felt the same way. This dude was pretty dumb for a smart guy. People who loved the movie could blame all that on the fact hes clearly unstable and insane I guess. Crazy people do dumb **** I guess no matter how high they're IQ might be. He i thought the movie was ok but I didnt love it.

Not a movie, but I watched the Canal produced War of the Worlds show.

I enjoyed it, despite being WotW in pretty much name only. I will definitely watch the second season to see where they take it.

    Has anyone else seen it?

He's been known to be a jerk on sets, and he's phoned in performances for years.

I think UNBREAKABLE has one of the greatest acting performances by Bruce Willis. I also think he's pretty good in GLASS. Sure, in a lot of his movies he hasn't given a lot but for Shyamalan he gave what was needed. A lot of the acting is internal--so it's very subtle, but it's there in the small details of his performance.
