Just watched the 2014 TMNT. It was largely mediocre, but the elevator scene had me giggling at least :P

Watched Freedom Fighters: The Ray
I usually like DC animated videos but this was:
1. Boring - too much of Ray's love life. I don't care one way or another
2. Stupid plotting - the Resistance vs. Nazi state and all they had were a few guys and 5 or so heroes? The Supergirl variant should have soloed them all in milliseconds.
Good idea, bad plot execution.
The Quick and the Dead. Love westerns. Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Keith David, Lance Henrickson...what a great cast.

Appleseed Alpha. Two horns and Nyx were the stand outs for me.

- SCHOOL OF ROCK (2004), Richard Linklater. Best end credit scene ever!
- DON’T DELIVER US FROM EVIL (1971), Joël Séria. Two Catholic school girls are best friends forever. And everyone suffers as a result.
- TROUBLE EVERY DAY (2001), Claire Denis. When you like your meals served rare and bloody.
- DIABOLIQUE (1955), Henri-Georges Clouzot. Alfred Hitchcock wanted to make this movie, but Clouzot beat him to it. A title card at the end begs the audience not to give away spoilers, so I won’t.
- THE IRON ROSE (1973), Jean Rollin. What if a French New Wave film was crossed with a low budget, psychological horror movie, filmed in a graveyard.
- DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS (1971), Harry Kümel. Chilly scenes of winter.
- VAMPYROS LESBOS (1971), Jesús Franco. An aural sensation.
I read the news today oh boy

Watched yesterday:
The Predator
Plenty wild and crazy popcorn flick I enjoyed.
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
I just watched the Deathnote film (the American version). For the first while it didn't seem as bad as it's made out to be, but oh boy did it get bad. So awful :P

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
I don't recommend it, it was boring and so obvious!
Dr. Strange is a decent superhero origin story masked by inception-esque visuals and decent magic fights.
Lost boys is a fun flick but kinda forgetable.
Predator (1987). Minigun memes, and cheesy one-liners aside, the film critics of that era were nuts to jeer at such a good movie. Predator is a very effective survival horror film. The last act, where the alien and Dutch were hunting each other, oozes tension. (I had to look away at certain scenes like when the cloaked hunter would crawl past mud-covered Dutch without either of them realizing just how close they were to each other.)
It would have had a better ending without the unnecessary one-on-one fight, though. It feels like that part was tacked on, because nothing suggested until then that the hunter had a sense of fair play. (Sneaking up on Billy for instance, when he wanted to have it out.) Getting killed by being outsmarted was good, but the duel nearly thows the movie's whole vibe off.
The woman in the shadows with the elegant sigh.
What could a common man do to catch her eye?
Her easy manner shames me, oh I hate myself so much!
I tremble and I'm breathless and I'm begging for her touch.
She sees my anguished urges but continues smirking by,
If I dare to follow her, it's likely that I'll die.
But even as she's feeding, as my body's torn apart,
Will she think upon me kindly?
When she slowly eats my heart?

Black Panther. There's a lot to love about the movie but the hero is the least interesting character. He's too hard to relate to for me. Same goes for Batman I guess.
