Really? Damn, I had no idea. I was watching this video where a guy was discussing the movie and he mentioned his disappointment that Mira Sorvino didn't become a bigger deal, since she was basically blacklisted because of Harvey Weinstein.

He also mentioned how he was disappointed that the movie didn't have a romantic angle between John and Meg in the movie.

    This is from IMDB:
When Fuqua delivered his initial cut, Columbia began testing the film. Test audiences struggled with the notion of a less-than-pure hero, and the bi-racial relationship between Chow Yun-Fat and Mira Sorvino. They also had issues with most of the other characters backstories, so Columbia called in action Editor Richard Francis Bruce to tighten up the film. All romantic elements between Chow and Sorvino were removed, along with most of the characters' motivations.

Looking into this some more, one source identifies la voce della Denchità as that of Penny Ryder, a colleague of Dame Dench.

Well, German movies are even worse. Copies of Hollywood. Bad copies

The Lighthouse Keeper with Robert Pattison and Willem Dafoe

Crazy **** movie. And wow, Robert Pattison can act. I don't want to see him as Batman, or rather can't imagine him as Batman, because he is so thin, but the boy can act. Willem Dafoe? I don't have to mention that he is great, do I? The movie is in black and white and a horror/mysterie story with much character. I definitely had to think about that movie for a long while after watching it.

Once upon a time in Hollywood

I liked it better than I thought. The Bruce Lee stuff was bullshit. If it was satire, okay I can live with it, but if Quentin thought that's how real Bruce was or should be shown...just no. The rest was Tarantino let his characters talk through the movie without a real plot, but it wasn't boring. Brad Pitt and Leonardo have a great chemistry, so that was great too. The fighting at the end of the movie was hilarious.

No "keeper". Just The Lighthouse. I also watched this last night. Finally.

I've seen Pattison do good things in other movies, so his acting wasn't a shock to me.

Speaking of Twilight alumni, I've got Underwater on deck for tonight or tomorrow...

Cuz there's more money in catering to the lowest common denominator. This has been Hollywood's M.O. since the 30's.

return of mary poppins , she and stephen king's it are ridiculously similar , i cannot unsee it now. Every 20 odd plus years , they reappear, both of them have a thing for little kids named georgie, both of them loves balloon, both of them can induce hallucinations and make inanimated things come alive, one likes to cause fear , the other happiness.

Yes, the Lighthouse...there was another movie with a Lighthouse that I saw recently. With a sea creature and two keepers who defended the Lighthouse against other sea creatures...that one was great too.

Haven't seen THE LIGHTHOUSE yet--it's on my list of movies to see, but I have to be in the right mood--in the last year I've seen KEEPERS aka THE VANISHING (2018) based on a true life mystery, SHUTTER ISLAND starring Leonardo DiCaprio and A STOLEN LIFE starring Bette Davis and Glenn Ford. I think I talked about all three lighthouse movies on this thread when I watched them. The true life lighthouse mystery also inspired a DOCTOR WHO story "The Horror of Fang Rock" featuring the Fourth Doctor and Leela. Apparently this mystery also inspired THE LIGHTHOUSE, but I wouldn't know having not seen it yet.

Men in Black:International. Perfectly fun movie with a likable cast. Hard to say why it didn't find a bigger audience. No Will Smith? Fatigue with the series? Quite enjoyable none the less.

Guess people are fed up about reboots? Chris Hemsworth isn't a big draw outside of Thor.
