Those anime of 2018 aren't as horrifying as Papa to Kiss in the Dark

Summary: Mira Munakata is a 15-year-old boy who is just entering highs school. Mira is in an illicit love affair with his father Kyousuke! Unknown to the public, both the father and son are lovers. In the meantime, Mira is chased by other schoolboy friends such as Takayaki, a third year from high school, and his best friend Kazuki, who are both also in love with him. Mira finds out that actually his 'father' may not actually be related to him at all. But instead of being glad that they aren't related- the son is horrified and distressed. When Mira later learns that he is still related to Kyousuke, he is relieved. It turns out that Kyōsuke is Mira's uncle and then everything is right again for the couple.

Yes, you are correct. There are some Japanese who have married their cousins.

I watched the first episode of Domestic Girlfriend. The premise of this series intrigued so much I gave it a chance. The main character has a one night stand with a total stranger he met in a mixer he get his mind off the unrequited crush he has on his teacher. A few days later his father tells him he's getting remarried and his partner's children end up being the teacher he's crushing on and the girl he slept with. Something like this warrants comedy but all played for drama. I must know how far this rabbit hole goes.

It goes pretty far down the rabbit hole, lol. Won't say more than that, but needless to say, it gets rather intense later on.

Huh, I actually really love the imouto/sister love animes myself. I mean, I see why others wouldn't like it, but it's all fiction anyways and it's really a rather small part of total anime put out yearly. Kind of the same deal as people who hate idol anime - the genre is easy to ignore if you don't like it. (Not trying to offend anyone, just saying there's a place for everyone's tastes and you can always ignore the stuff you don't like.)

    Two things for relevance.

Today I watched March Comes in Like a Lion episode 1. It's good. I read the manga before but the anime manages to capture the charm of the manga.

A 17-year old professional shogi player who is still in high school, orphaned years ago and currently estranged with his foster family. He feels more at ease and more relaxed when he is eating with a family of three sisters who befriended him.

What a cute and sweet story.

Heaven’s Feel Lost Butterfly comes out in Japan today. Some on Reddit say it’s better than the first movie, as I hoped.

US release rumored/confirmed to be March 14th...probably not the premiere date. If it’s like with Presage Flower that’ll be in mid-February. Not sure about European showings, I seem to remember a showing set for Holland or France in February.

3rd movie comes out in Spring 2020 and is titled Spring Song...fitting.

Gonna be a long couple of months waiting for it.

While the current season anime rounds itself out I'm watching some older stuff. I came across the King's Game anime and it's been entertaining horror schlock. It's hard to like or be sympathetic when everyone is so stupid. It's one of these shows you watch just to see how everyone dies.

Halfway through King's Game and things got insanely stupid. Lol at this show trying to use technology to explain things that are scientifically impossible.

I don't have any America visits planned this year and while I did enjoy my one day trip to the UK to see My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, I'm not sure I'm ready to do that for Lost Butterfly.

Though it's going to bug to not see it for some time.

Finally watched Inuyashiki: Last Hero from start to finish, and this has some amazing animation, but some of the CG animation looks a bit rough at some frames.

Shishigami Hiro vs Yagami Light (I prefer to pronounce Japanese names the way they do, feels like there is more power behind that pronunciation and order of surname and first name), who is a more terrifying villain?
I won't underestimate the threat Light compared to Hiro due to the kind of power the latter forget.

I finished watching episode 14 of Angels of Death (Satsuriku no Tenshi). It was a great episode. Ray turns on Danny. And she turns her attention to Zack. Ray has her doubts about herself and her god. Zack snaps Ray out of it and reminds her about the promise they made to each other. Then they renew their promise once more. Ray seeks a way out of the floor but alone without Zack. In a room, the priest gets to interview Ray alone. He asks Ray questions. She tells him that she knows who she is and she trusts Zack. He notices Ray speak with absolute confidence in her tone. He understands that Ray is no longer in self-doubt. Then the priest agrees to permit Ray leave along with Zack. Ray manages to find an exit. Zack goes along with her. At the end of the episode they get a little big surprise.

They also kill the status quo of the universe on a regular basis.
