I think she would be great on Red if they got rid of a couple characters. Right now, it seems pretty crowded on that team imo

Trinary is an OC, so there's no chance of that, but we can dump Gentle or Storm without a problem, especially since Storm wasn't in the costume design thing at the end of the first issue, or there when they brought the girl down to SeaRebro. I feel like she'll definitely cameo if it goes on long enough, at least.

Yeah, I love Storm but I was honestly surprised when they brought her into the book in the first place.

I get why some people like her, and I know she's definitely an A-lister, but honestly, I don't care at all about her. I actually prefer Bloodstorm.

So, I think we can tell that enthusiasm for Rogue has absolutely diminished. This thread used to be a success. Ever since Rogue returned to the X-Men, fans have had nothing to really look forward to. Sure she got married but she was also moved off from any significant stories. After the last several years of Rogue actually being important on a team and on the Avengers, it is sad to see the X-Men editors still can't find any use for her character. :-/

I don't think enthusiasm has diminished for Rogue per se. It's just... it's turned into what I wish writers would make sure to avoid with characters in relationship(s), instead of individual characters right now it's Rogue + Gambit. The Romy thread is very active and has taken the place of what the Rogue thread used to be (though the reset didn't help).

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying reading Mr and Mrs X, but Rogue really needs a presence outside of the relationship where she can develop as her own character. Then we can have something to talk about inside this thread, instead of it being more appropriate in the Romy thread, since most of her main development for the past several months has been toward the relationship. (basically all of it, outside the ms marvel reveal which didn't really get elaborated on)

Same applies to Gambit, he needs to exist outside of the relationship, you'll notice the Gambit thread has suffered the same fate as this thread as a result.

But yeah, as nice as KTs book is, Rogue's last year with the Avengers was a much more interesting position to me. I really don't like this editorial limbo we've been stuck with Rogue on not being clear where her future or long-term book is. Instead all we get is inconsequential minis and a couple book, Rogue needs more than that.

Agreed. I suppose we won't really know where Rogue lands, team-wise, until the Uncanny event ends. It's probably going to shake up the status quo. I just hope Rogue gets to lead her own X-team.

I hope she makes it on a team, but my fear is the X-editors will be like, "Look we married her off to Gambit and they have their own book. Read her there." It's like now she is married off so they don't have to use her anymore.

Think about it, Rogue has not been on a flagship X-book in 20 years. Rogue was always relegated to a second tier book and then just given to the Avengers editors. It feels like when the year 2000 hit, the big writers and editors just didn't like her. Whedon, Mark Miller and Grant Morrison were all not fans and the awful movies did not help bring in newbies to the fandom. I feel like Rogue is stuck in this loop of x-creators not really digging her character. I dunno, maybe overreacting, but it feels true. :-/

Thompson is a fan of her, so I am optimistic that she will have a decent role to play in Disassembled. That will position her to get some love in whatever books are launched after the event.

And, yeah, I would like her and Gambit to be on different teams. They need to be individual characters too.

With that said, at least some of the MMX discussion has been purely Roguecentric, e.g. her level of invulnerability.

This thread isn’t seeing much action because most of the discussion is happening in the Rogue & Gambit combined appreciation thread. You’ll notice Gambit’s thread isn’t seeing much either.

We all knew we would have to wait at least till the end of Blue and Gold for the new books, the surprise came with the new 10 issues long Uncanny (which I'm sure Rogue will be a part of) so the wait will be a bit longer.
Also I got the feeling that Red, Weapon X and maybe Astonishing will all be ending around the same time of Uncanny in order to get an almost full relaunch of the X-line.
I think is obvious that Rogue will be in one of the new teams, we just have to be patient, when that happens I just hope Gambit is in a different team book so that both of them are free to explore other aspects of their lives and not be attached to the hip to one another. While we wait for that to happen we have MMX to enjoy
