Most of them are done anyway. JMS retired so that’s Superman wrapped up (sadly that cliffhanger will probably never get finished). Morrison has one more WW volume. Johns has one more volume at least, we’ll see if there a vol. 4. I doubt TT will see another volume. GL will hopefully get another one but it’s not certain. Manupaul is taking forever to get Aquaman done, and JMS was supposed to do Flash but who knows what will happen now.
Since Morrison has just finished Wonder Woman Earth One volume 2, he might want to give that character a rest, but he might want to play with her mainline DC counterpart a bit as a guest star in The Green Lantern. Wonder Woman is a tough nut to crack creatively. Even Morrison struggled with her in volume one, which he was quite open about.
How can an out of continuity story be out of character? It's meant to be a completely different take on Hal Jordan, not the guy we read about in the main DCU. It's like saying that the Red Sun Superman was acting out of character--that's the entire point.
Now, if you don't care for it, that's fair enough. JMS lost me in the first few pages of his Superman Earth One when he had Clark seriously contemplating using his powers to become an NFL star or to become rich and famous. That's simply not a Superman I have an interest in reading about. However, I wouldn't say that JMS was writing Superman out of character because this was an entirely new version of Superman he was writing from scratch. Now, JMS's main DCU Superman stuff in which he was walking through America moping and destroying Lois's evidence of environmental malfeasance? THAT horribly-written bull$#!* was out of character.

John is much bulkier than Hal. lol
Where is that from? Does Hal show up in the TTG movie?
He only showed up as a few cameos like this...

Eh that's fine, I thought he didn't show up in the movie at all. It's nice to know they still acknowledged him.
